Brasserie 23 at The Kings Head in Daventry

Easy online booking, much higer quality food than expected from a pub, reasonable prices. Need to stress it out, you get fancy dining quality food here. As a suggestion I d get a few more beers on tap.(or give out drinks menu)

Superb.A fantastic bass main course, great company, lovely surroundings and a nicely chilled pinot.The best that this slice of Northamptonshire has to offer.

The Kings Head is a halfway meeting place for my parents so we’ve eaten here before and it has been superb. Unfortunately … 👇🏼They had a bad day yesterday. Perhaps they have a new chef 🤷🏼‍♂️. Food was very average but consistently expensive. Service was poor and for a Saturday afternoon the place was empty with no atmosphere. We all sent our starters (prawns) back partially eaten and all of our mains were just about edible but not one of us cleared our plates. No atmosphere today with an empty restaurant which was surprising for a Easter Saturday.When the bill came the starters were still charged at nearly £50 but they acknowledged the starters were poor by offering us a free coffee so begs a question as to why they weren’t removed from the bill! The bill was nearly £150 for the 4 of us (two courses with one uneaten) and that was without a dessert because 2 scoops of ice cream was £7.50. Prices have gone up since our last visit!I don’t know that we’ll use the Kings Head again. Probably not. Shame really.

Just a fabulous meal . Nice staff great food and very good value. . Probably the best meal we’ve had anywhere including France during the past few years.

We were a party of four. All the meals were excellent, service great. Highly recommended.

First visit & genuinely pleased with whole experience. Staff were welcoming, charming & very attentive throughout. We were recommended & so glad to eat here as food was superb. Had prawns starter with lovely monkfish main, well presented & very tasty. Would recommend & definitely be back, it is not cheap but all about good value, quality of food & the experience. Lovely building and interior, with a pleasant ambience.The handpump beer was well kept.The meal - mains, dessert, and coffee were all superb - beautifully prepared with fine ingredients.The staff were delightful, and the service impeccable.Definitely will be going again!

What an amazing experience at the Kings l had with friends. The food did not disappoint- succulent scallops, juicy fillet steak, amazing desserts. Only downside is that if you have an allergy or intolerance its not clearly written on any dish ( gluten,dairy,nuts etc). I had to ask for a dish if it contained dairy but besides that it was amazing. Remember to bring lots of wonga!!£££ worth it

Pleasant setting, sophisticated food, great flavours combination. I highly recommend this gem of a place. Formidable in every way. We were greeted by the owner, shown to our table. Service was impeccable. We will return and sample more of the menu.

A fabulous location of a restaurant, especially on a sunny day, where we sat outside for pre dinner drinks. I had the liver Parfait for starter which was beautiful and the Sea bass for mains which was equally tasty.The issue that we had as a Birthday party group was that we pre warned and booked 4 people in out party as vegetarians (including the birthday girl) and required the vegetarian Sunday dinner, unfortunately this wasn't fully communicated as the vegetarian roast was just the vegetables without gravy. The gravy was unfortunately meat gravy and we had to ask for an alternative which was a mushroom or tomato sauce which wasn't ideal as these were just sauces from other meals on the menu. It would be great if there was a specific sunday roast for veggies, like a nut roast or maybe a flat mushroom with breadcrumb as the main element.In reflection dessert was absolutely amazing for us all, the warm mousse is to die for!I love this restaurant alot, and I think Danny and Jo have made it fabulous, just a bit of thought into a vegetarian roast would be perfect!
