New Inn Long Buckby Wharf in Daventry

An old place, ideal to enjoy a delicious drink and with a great view towards the canal, you can see the canoes and how they open their floodgates. I would definitely return to this place, the staff is very attentive and the quality is good.

Visited, on a really hot sunny day. Having completed the locks. Pleasant atmosphere, and cold cider.I can ask for nothing else in life.

It's a nice place right by a lock on the canal. Good food and drink, friendly helpful staff. Not sure if it's changed management recently, the prices seem to have gone up quite a lot since I was last in there.

I personally found the barmaid very unfreindly and rude. Certainly not a place I would head for with my boat. They may force a smile in the daytime whilst extracting your money for a bit of grub.

Great place. Food was really good and staff very helpful. Good selection of real ales on tap and an interior full of atmosphere. We spent a lovely evening there and would not hesitate to go there again if in the area. Also good moorings nearby.

Small but welcoming Canal Side Pub with outside seating to "Gongoozle" at the boats going through the top lock of the Long Buckby flight. All within a short autumn walk from my winter mooring @WhiltonMarina up the Buckby flight to the top lock and the New Inn. I was invited to join some friends for dinner there and we had an excellent dinner and a couple of drinks.

Best camping holidays here, can not fault it, plenty of space, views amazing, very clean and tidy..love it, love it, love it, can not wait to go again next year

Been here several times but more recently last week for lunch when moored on the GU. The one way system is clearly laid out and works well. Staff were friendly and helpful- compliments in particular to the young lady who was cooking and waitressing for the first time since lockdown. My partner enjoyed a couple of pints of Wainwright’s and there were several other real ales available. The food is always delicious and freshly cooked. We agree they are the best chips around and the New Inn is always known to us The Chips pub.Lovely to sit and watch boats up and down in the lock. Will definitely be back when we are in the area.
