Spencer Arms in Daventry

Delicious food and good value. I had the mushroom and ale pie, which had beautifully crisp pastry and a tasty filling although I'd have liked a few more mushrooms. Service was good and the staff very friendly. Also dog friendly.

Lovely spacious pub in a small village not too far from Althorp Estate. (Diana Princess of Wales’ childhood home) Good food and service. Will definitely return.

Great food, great service, very happy!

Nothing was too much trouble, my wife kept asking for more gravy and the waiter kept bringing it. The sunday dinner was so good. I had the veg wellington which was the best ever. I left a big tip because we were looked after and the chef cares about what he sends out to the table. Book online using the website if they say they are full, you can get a table sometimes.

Came in for food on Tuesday with some friends.We had a great time, and lots of drinks.The staff looked after us all night and couldn’t do enough for us.There was a quiz on, it started whilst we were eating so we didn’t join in.However we moved into the bar area after we finished and caught the second half.We shall be back next week as the quiz questions were not too taxing and it looked like a lot of fun.All in all, a very good night, excellent food and service.

Nice place and good staff but food (Sunday lunch) was dreadful - 3 out of four of us had to get replacement meals as meat was so bad. This was not only a disappointment for us but I felt sorry for the front of house staff who were clearly embarrassed. generally the evening meals are not too bad but I am now giving up on Sunday lunch completely

A very nice place. As it's under a large brewery the menu is largely as it would be in a number of their other pubs, which has the advantage of decent quality at reasonable prices. What makes a visit worth while is the extremely nice setting, staff and building. I hope to visit again soon.

First time visiting and wasn't disappointed, everything from the booking on line, greeting, service and food were fantastic. Very reasonably priced, will definitely be revisiting again soon.The only couple of feedback points would be a choice of chips with the burgers and a littleore custard with the apple crumble but they were personal preferences. 5*.

Very good service - polite and attentive staff, food average. I had the mixed grill my son had an 8oz steak, - off the adults menu before you ask!

Nice place, and both my starter and main were very good. I wasn't crazy about the dessert, but I think it was me. Price was upper reasonable for a semi-special occasion. Our server Lucy was fantastic.
