A spontaneous visit for Sunday Lunch whilst passing through and must say was very impressed. The trio roast was excellent and the cocktail of the day a must!! Will be sure to return in the near future.

Great place for lunch. Great atmosphere and lovely to sit and spend some time with friends in a lovely setting food was lush! I had a soup and duck salad which was divine. Prices are reasonable and nicely presented

Me and my partner went yesterday evening. It was very busy but the staff were polite and apologetic for the wait so I didn't mind at all. Food was super good, really enjoyed it, their roast is definitely worth the money - you get a lot and they packaged my leftovers for me to take home! The only thing that let the experience down for me was the screaming children running about everywhere. I know it's difficult for the staff to do anything but they we just constantly shrieking and getting in the way on the stairs, one waitress was carrying a massive tray of beers and nearly got tripped up by one. It's a massive shame because apart from that everything was perfect.

Jess was outstanding. Polite & attentive.food was incredible. The only disappointment was the Biscoff chocolate bomb, far far too rich and the tiniest brownie ever.

We dined here recently and I have to say it was a really disappointing experience compared to past visits. My wife ordered the battered cod and chips. As soon as it arrived we could see the chips were over done, dry and hard. She mentioned this to the waitress and new chips were ordered. These arrived with a disgruntled grunt from the waitress and were not that much better. The pea puree was also dry and brittle. She had to mix in mayonnaise to give it some moisture and taste. The battered fish was also over done. I ordered the half chicken and my fries were also overdone, dry and hard. The chicken wasn't fresh, it was dry and looked and tasted like it had been heated up in a microwave left over from the previous day. For desserts I ordered the chocolate brownie which was nice. My wife ordered the lemon posset which again was disappointing. It arrived all runny like a lemon sauce with a couple of bits of fruit in it. It wasn't set and like the rest of the meal it had just been rushed out with no care and attention. Not worth the price tag at all. Overall the experience was a huge disappointment. Really over priced with poor quality microwaved non fresh food. Not what we have experienced in the past. When a really good restaurant starts to serve poor quality food it's not a good sign for the future.

I love this pub, great ambience. However the food does not justify the cost. The food is unfortunately hit and miss. I had a vegan burger asked for salad instead of chips. Got chips. Thought I'd go with the flow. The chips were dry and hard not pleasant. The burger was OK but not worth the price. The portion was sparse and overpriced. Starters tasty but stingy. So nearly ÂŁ60 for a burger and chips. Fish main and 2 tiny starters and 1 drink each. If it was delicious I have no gripes but it wasn't. Has no sparkle the food.

Great place to eat. Food always good, a great selection for all dietary requirements and the staff are always very helpful and friendly and lovely relaxing surroundings. Good value.

We had a wonderful Diamond Wedding celebration at The Fox and Hounds. . Becky and her team could not have been more helpful and the service, quality of food and drink was absolutely superb. We had the fork buffet menu and could not fault any of it, From feedback received from all our guests, they too were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Becky ensured that we all felt safe in view of Covid and was a delight to deal with. The Garden room was a lovely venue for our 23 guests. We shall certainly be back.

Came for a Sunday roast with my partner. Food was very nice … the portions however Is TINY. the service was very very slow as well… I had the pork belly which was 2 pieces cut from the pork (small) and my partner had the trio (all the meat) and he was very upset. It was a plateful for a 6 year old child…. Won’t be going again ending up going elsewhere just to fill our tummy’s.

A gorgeous restaurant with fantastic service and an extensive menu. Thanks to Emily who looked after us.
