Superb food and service to match. A great place in the middle of the country to meet. First time visiting here and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend, a lot of places could learn from The Red Lion at Hellidon 🍽🍻👌🏼

Sunday lunch for 3 adults and 3 children. Amazing atmosphere, stunning food and very attentive service. Couldn't have had a better first experience, thoroughly enjoyed every minute and will definitely be returning! Worth every penny *****

Absolutely fantastic - food delicious and worth the £ - and the staff are simply amazing - chatty, warm, professional , great sense of humour and super helpful .. when we got there the room smelt a bit doggy - Jane immediately offered us a different room which suited us better. Following morning our car wouldn’t start - they couldn’t have been more helpful.. rooms are spacious, well equipped and v clean - bar the one that smelt of dogs I would thoroughly recommend ! Everything is clean and immaculate - and I can’t get over the food - simply the best I’ve had for a very long time (and we live opposite a Michelin star pub and the Red Lion smashes it by quite a long way! ) Will definitely be back - book before you come as it’s v busy ! I wish them all the best - what a great little business and they work so hard ! Thank you

A group of us have visited this lovely pub twice, the beer and wine selection is very good, but most importantly the atmosphere is great! The food looks good too.

Just love this place!Staff are magical and food is good without pretensions. The Chef knows good ingredients doesn't over engineer but delivers tasty, good sauces, perfectly cooked meat and fish and some nice touches of imaginative freshness. Just had fab calves liver preceeded by shellfish in a brandy cresm sauce and hubby had Fritto Misto which was delicate and crispy light batter and flavoursome mussels, prawns and baby squid!!yumm

Very nice lunch, great ambiance and staff attentive but not overly fussy. Would give a good recommendation. I will certainly be back there again soon

I work from home a lot and because of budget restraints I normally stay at your normal plastic chain hotels. I found this place on booking .com and what a pleasant surprise. Great room, lovely food and friendly staff. Love the breakfast in a box. This made working from home a little more palatable.

What a pub! I went here for dinner this evening and was immediately welcomed but a really friendly (and very tall) barman who made me feel so at home. The food was amazing (burger and cheesecake), decor was really nice and generally an absolutely top place for some food and drink. If I was local I'd be going there all the time.

My wife and I came out to eat here a couple of Saturdays ago - really nice country pub situated in a small village. the pub is very well looked after and on the whole the food it great - however I ordered a Pork Tomahawk :) :) I should of been able to work it out for myself really, its the only time I have ever heard the description "Pork Tomahawk", and that because everyone else calls them a Pork Cutlet! Its a shame because its a fabulous place with good staff and great location only to be left with the sour taste of paying £22 for a pork cutlet and mash :(

Booked a table for a pre Christmas trial as we have reserved a table for Christmas Day lunch. We were not dissapointed. Very welcoming , warm and friendly staff. Food is excellent and well prepared. Only criticism is my pork steak was served in a large pasta style bowl making it tricky to eat, not a complaint at all just an observation if anything. Overall very happy and totally looking forward to Christmas lunch 😀
