The Royal Oak in Daventry

We went for Sunday lunch and I must say the roast dinner was fantastic. Lovely old country pub with freindy staff. I would highly recommend.

Took a chance on this place for Sunday lunch based on Google reviews. Having been disappointed with other pubs this was a welcome change. There was nothing to fault. There was a warm and friendly welcome, a good choice of drinks, excellent Sunday roast, fabulous desserts and coffee. Will definitely be going back.

Great menu and great service - everything beautifully cooked and piping hot. Have visited for dinner and Sunday lunch in the last month - both faultless!

Amazing food, well kept ale, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Lovely pub, and same goes for the landlord and landlady. Felt very welcome whilst on our holiday and would highly recommend a visit to anyone in the vicinity. A++++

Went here last night and had a lovely meal, went off piste and had the Hake for a change (usually have Steak) and loved it. Very comfortable and a great atmosphere even in these strange times. Would definately reccomend.

Just been in for Sunday lunch (even the dog was allowed in).5 type of veg plus new and roast potatoes and parsnips !My husband hates taking me out because I'm rarely happy with the meal or the staff. Well, today I had not one complaint,we sent compliments to the chef and the staff were lovely.It is an hour from home but we will be going back!

Shows live sport (was able to watch F1) ordered a steak sandwich off the lunch menu which was fairly nice. Food took slightly longer than I would have liked especially as it was only the one meal but otherwise very good.

A simply wonderful restaurant. The owners used to own an amazing restaurant in Chipping Campden, and this is just as good.Wonderful food, excellent wines, great staff.They also have a bar area which is very welcoming also.Highly recommended!

Awesome. A warm welcome by Matt and Holly who are terrific hosts as is all their staff. The food is great. Beer always flows and everyone enjoys themselves in this very friendly country pub. Highly recommended.
