COSMO Derby in Derby

Went at the weekend for my son's 14th birthday. It's his favourite place, we are reasonably regular customers. Perhaps 3-4 times a year. Yesterday was the first time visiting since lockdown closures. It is clear to me that the quality of the food has taken a real dive. The service was great, the staff were helpful and friendly, hence the 2 stars, but the food was really terrible. A real shame, because previously the quality and range has been quite good. A real drop in standards, which is a shame.

Initially - it looked closed. We opened the unbelievably heavy doors and were asked to take a seat in quite a cool and swanky dimly lit sort of area.They took us to our table and there were loads of tables and we ordered the drinks. Which took a while but decent selection and then went for the food.Quite frankly it looked awful. But I delved in and whatever it was I had was nice admittedly.Basically there would have been about two good dishes there. The rest stodge or real creamy.They said that at 16.00 the prices go from 13.99 to 18.99So we made sure we had paid by 15.40 but sincerely hope that its a menu change not just a price change.The food wasn't great. In fact seeing all those types spread out is enough to put you off.The decor was beautiful and classy as hell. The staff were lovely.But no way will I be going back..

Visited last week with the family. Good array of food but I would have liked burgers on the menu. I found it a little expensive (family of 5) although one of the party was celebrating a birthday so ate for free. All in all I was satisfied the place and we all left full. Soft drinks are bottomless

Excellent buffet. Some cooks will prepare food personally for you. Pleasant and friendly service. You can get a 15% discount on your next visit if you scan the qr-code on the receipt and leave a review about your visit.

Went to celebrate a friends hen do. Food was lovely, drinks were great. We had a great time all round x

Not great. Came here 3 years ago. It used to be lovely with a great selection of food. There's hardly anything to choose from except for Chinese and Indian. Hardly any Mexican, Thai, Italian foods. They used to do a selection of meats that they would cook in front of you. Not anymore. It's more like a canteen. Also, no one clears your plates away or brings clean cutlery. We went the the Nottingham one a couple of weeks ago and they were so fast clearing your plate that you didn't see it happen. They were much more attentive. I would go to cosmo again but not the derby one after my experience today

If you are hungry it is worthwhile, @ £17.50 it's not cheap but plenty of choice and if you are happy to wait for refills you can get what you want fresh, Chinese, Asian British, Brazilian and plenty more. With some basic micro puddings and sweet treats

We had a great time here with the family, its most definitely improved since i went last, the empty plates were moved with in mintues and the food was hot and tasted yummy. The staff we constantly cleaning and splashes or spillages removed almost immediately well done guys keep up the good work

Despite being very busy we got our table at the booked time and no real queuing for food. Food was hot and fresh, tasty and surprisingly good for a fast food restaurant. Also a good variety of different cuisine.
