Costa Coffee, Wyvern Retail Park in Derby

Convenient to spend half an hour there when you've been doing bit of shopping locally. I had breakfast there whilst waiting for Halfords to finish with my car.

We visit several Costa's and have always thought it was fairly ok but on the last 3 trips I have noticed a slip in their usual standards. Tables sticky as not washed down or still has remnants of food on the tables/chairs etc and not very clean cutlery , plates and cups. This is not down to one but the 3 we usually vist and the last one brings me to this Costa and unfortunately it was not pleasant. As you can see by the pictures the tea pot looks like it's never been cleaned and if you enlarge the pictures especially the tea pot and spoon you will see what it looked like as it was delivered to our table. I suggest they send secret shoppers to their establishments and let their staff know the results. I understand it might not be their employees first choice of employment but if they work there and obviously get paid for doing it then it should be better standards than it is

No stools to use the chargers. Most of the cafe doesnt even have charging points. Nearly all of the tables around the edge dont have sockets or charging points. Wifi is VERY SLOW. Only plus is the friendly staff :)

My parents visited on Saturday as a birthday treat for my dad. When they were unable to use the app to get his free bird at cake one of the new staff members in training took the time to sit with them and help them through it. She took their order at their table and brought their drinks over for them so they didn’t have to get up and try carrying them. They really enjoyed their treat and were very grateful to the lady that helped them.

Coffee and sandwich lovely. Good counter service. I had to clear the table, 3 trays with cups, saucers and cutlery etc. Had the only table left and could not get in and had to ask people behind on either side to move so as we could sit down. The table was pushed right up to us. Not comfortable at all. If we were any bigger than our size 12's there was no way we could have sat down. This was at 11.35am and only 2 staff on serving very busy. Not very impressive I must say🙄

The staff member making the drinks, Rory, was a delight and made my morning. Tons of energy and care went into making our coffees today!

My and wife had a toastie and a coffeeon Costa for brunch. It was great.The staff were very happy for us.☕🤓

No idea what the coffee or food is like because unable to enter the cafe at 17:56 as was told at the drive through window they were closed and no way to order take away without a car. I've altered your opening times to reflect what we found. To add insult to injury there were customers still seated, even 15 mins later after we walked back past on our way home.Front door closing time read 6PM:7PM, which is it? Won't be returning and will avoid any others within this franchise.

Great relaxing place . Good choice of coffee's and snacks. Highly recommended

5:20 pm on Saturday, the menu screen was off and I was told they are closing in 8 minutes and I could order takeaway. No opening times are shown at all. Google states it is open till 7pm. I have been in other Costas that allowed ordering right up until the closing time and have allowed people to finish the drinks if need be without putting pressure.
