Curry art in Derby

this place calls its self curry art, sorry but that must be a joke, because they havent got a clue on how to do a curry, the food was vile to say the least, chips were soggy as anything, and could not be eaten, nam bread was hard a rubbery, defiantly wasn't fresh, curry was all heat and no flavour, basically it all went in the bin, id avoid this place by all means, they need to get a chef that knows how to cook and sends decent food out, should be shut down otherwise !!!!!!

Excellent food. Quick delivery great friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble they even delivered our food to us on our canal boat.

We are on the canals and moored up at Swarkstone Lock. Rang and asked if they delivered out to Swarkstone Lock, said the did. Order arrived in about 40 min. Great tasty food coupled with excellent service. Would recommend that you try them Alan

I ordered my food online and it was delivered within 35 minutes on a Friday night (to Alvaston) which is pretty good. The food was absolutely delicious and still piping hot, what we liked the most was that unlike many takeaway curries the oil content was low, no oil slick on top. The rice was really fluffy and the portion sizes were decent. I have tried a few takeaway curries over lockdown but I would rate this one as the best. Highly recommended.

This place is terrible. Ordered food at approximately 6.00pm to come for 8.00pm. Food arrived at 8.40pm, luke warm and popodoms smashed to bits. Phoned Curry Art to advise them and the person answering put the phone down on us twice. We will be sticking to Curry Nights in Alvaston from now on. Food always on time, hot and it's great. Just thought we'd try somewhere different, wish we'd not bothered now. I wouldn't even give Curry Art 1 star if I had the choice. Don't waste your money. Only wish I'd seen all these 1 star reviews before I ordered.

Have used this take away for the last 15 years I am now very sad to say that the food and service has deteriorated massively over the last year. Orders do not not arrive at the correct time.. consistently early or late..1 hour early is not acceptable when all the people aren’t there to eat the food! Order has been incomplete on the last two occasions. Chicken has been hard, onions not cooked through, pickle tray has insufficient sized pots to accompany the poppodoms, naan breads missing from order. Very poor customer service when we rang, they refused to acknowledge our complaint about the order being incomplete and not at the expected time. We were told we could have free naan breads next time..! Curry Art hung up the phone which is so poor when we had paid for goods we had not received! Good bye Curry Art, we will not be buying from you anymore! And Good Luck .. you are going to need it..

PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE! I ordered a few items from the starter menu to takeaway & waited in the seating area to collect my food. The MALE front of house staff member went to the bathroom (which was very visible from where I sat). I heard the toilet flush and he came straight out without washing his hands. He then went on to enter the kitchen for a few minutes...came out and pushed in chairs and arranged tables (where people are meant to eat) and then fiddled with things behind the till area.When I asked if he'd washed his hands?...he mumbled at me. I asked him again. He then went back into the bathroom to actually wash his hands.This would be bad enough at any time, but during a time of a global pandemic??????? I was absolutely disgusted. I asked for my money back because I WAS NOT about to eat any food he passed me…and I copped an attitude from the guy! I explained how basic hygiene is important at the best of times…but now it was even more important. He practically threw my refund at me and told me to get out; as if I was the problem. He even slammed the door behind me and broke a wineglass on the table. I was with my 14 month old daughter at the time. So needless to say I won’t be spending money in there EVER again, pandemic or not. I advise everyone to give this place a wide birth and ignore that green 5 star hygiene thing they display in the window. Utterly disgusting.

Quality seems to have gone downhill lately. Received hard crunchy chicken often over the past few weeks. Sometimes so tough that it was completely inedible and I couldn’t even cut through it! The last meal I ordered had less than half the usual sauce content too. Will edit my review if this changes. Still 3 stars for the flavour and because I hope these issues don’t persist as i’m used to good quality from this restaurant.

Really enjoyed this experience, really friendly staff, great recommendations, freshly cooked food to order. It was our favorite take away, and is now one of our favorite restaurants. Support you local business and enjoy the food. Cash only, and you can take your own booze. Thank you

To say I'm gutted is an understatement. I order almost every Friday. I order the same thing a butter chicken and a dansak set meal for 2. Never had a problem and I usually really enjoy it. However on this occasion my butter chicken had a good cm of oil on top and it had curdled with the oil. When I called I was explained to because I'm so thick that it was butter on top. Well I'm afraid as I order it every week just about from you and it never looks like this. 😡 Then to not even say I'll remake it or anything. Telling me it will be given to me free next time. I don't want it next time I want it made right tonight. Well l I'm sorry to say there will not be a next time. This is the last time I will ever order from you and I will not continue to recommend 😔 Really disappointed in your food and customer service. So thanks but no thanks I will go back to my original Indian. A bit of a trek but was never served anything like this or told it was how it is. Butter chicken does not look like this from anywhere I've ordered including from you. Until tonight.
