Darleys - Restaurant & Terrace in Derby

Darleys offers an atmospheric setting, ideal for a quite dinner-date. I made a reservation with my partner and the booking process was easy, the staff were the utmost professional, and the food was unsurprisingly great given that the restaurant appears on the Michelin Guide.My partner was disappointed with the little range of options on the menu but still cleaned for plate. The restaurant is also certainly on the pricier end of the market. However, this is the only establishment within Derby to even appear on the Michelin Guide, hence, the prices should be understandable.The best fine-dining experience in Derby 👍

I really wanted to give a higher star rating but there are a few things that I think need to be addressed. I was excited to finally visit under the new ownership and have always loved it before. But sorry to say I left a bit disappointed. The quality of the food was amazing as was the presentation. The reason for my lower rating:You just cannot get hold of them, they say it's because they are focused and attentive on their guests, we are going to be your future guests and it's a lot of effort on the customers part to get in touch.I ordered a vegetarian starter and main but the amuse bouche came out was beef and muscle. Maybe I needed to flag it but as I'd ordered vegetarian I thought they would checkThe starter was fabulous but my vegetarian main was disappointing there was hardly anything to it. My meat eating companions had lovey hearty portions and I felt short changed. I left hungry (we had the set not the tasting menu). For the price we paid we expected if to be amazing. There were elements that were there but a few things that I don't think are quite there just yet.Other guests having the non veggie options loved it so maybe a bit more love for the veggies.

Amazing Saturday afternoon lunch, we always try to book for the 2.3opm slot. So relaxed, gorgeous surroundings, beautiful restaurant & just gorgeous food & wine.Service is always exceptional, friendly & knowledgeable.We love this place & will visit again soon.

Came here for a birthday lunch and it was amazing. The updated interior since my last visit was a great change. The food was incredible and the service was the best I've ever had. I will be planning my next visit soon.

Absolutely flawless experience from start to finish, from the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel welcome and the staff were so friendly and attentive to detail.We had the tasting menu and went gung-ho and added the wine flight option which I would recommend… if you’re eating here do yourself a favour and go all out - immerse yourself in the experience… the sommelier is very knowledgable and knows their stuff, so you’re doing yourself a favour.Darley’s has a very relaxing atmosphere - you can tell some money has been spent on giving this place some TLC… we cannot wait to come back here in the summer time and enjoy a meal in the Derbyshire sunshine.I’ll let my photos do the rest of the talking but this is seriously some of the best food I’ve ever tasted - fine dining without the pretentiousness!!

Lovely relaxed atmosphere in such a great location. The view from the outside balcony is top notch and worth a visit with a nice drink before or after your meal. The food is excellent in taste and presentation with local produce used where possible. A few more low/non alcohol beers on the list would have been nice for me personally but no big deal. Definitely planning to go back soon.

We had the taster menu and every course was delicious. The staff were also so friendly and accommodating. We had a stunning view of the river which was the icing on the cake.

The food is very nice and staffs are lovely. It's a good very elegant place to have a nice with someone who you love.

Lovely food! Such a nice experience. Staff are very friendly and more than happy to help.Only thing stopping it being 5 is that the bar staff can't seem to get a drink right.Order was vodka tonic and lime cordial.The variations I got were vodka tonic and lime slices. Then vodka and half a glass of lime cordial no tonic. And finally vodka soda and lime. Gave up and had brandy and coke in the end.

Great location, especially the terrace for pre dinner drinks. Friendly staff. The menu is very good, with lots of choice. The standard of food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
