Desi Tawa in Derby

This is the go to place for the best indian food in Derby. My mum will probably be upset for me saying this, but this restaurant serves the most authentic Indian home style food that Derby has been lacking for many years. The ambience, the decor, the service and the food are amazing. Great service combined with the best quality and tasty Indian food makes for an amazing night. Absolutely out of this world.

4 course meal at Tarka tonight with an old friend. Service was great, special mention to Mij and Aman 😉. The food was 💯 not a thing wrong, gorgeous flavoursome food. Keep it up Tarka 👍

Absolutely loved this place. Went there for my friend's birthday dinner and Team Tarka made sure we had an amazing evening. The one item I'd be going back for is the 'Papdi chaat'. Best chaat I've tasted in years. From the interiors to food service, it was impeccable. Huge shout-out to Jubz, Bilal, Shiraz and Zayn for going an extra mile in their hospitality. The owner managed to organise a table for me and my mate even though they were fully booked. We had the Iftar Buffet which consisted of Kebabs, Samosa, Pakoray, Chips, Chicken Tikka, Biryani, Dhaal, Meat Curry, Chicken Curry, Veg Curry, Naan and the list goes on. Food was very tasty and freshly cooked. I really enjoyed every item.The restaurant decor is very nice and they have a prayer room for men and women.I will be back soon to try other menu items.

New management, good atmosphere. Nice Iftar buffet. Value for money. Educated staff . Family place available. Especially Sheraz and Hasnat service was excellent.Owner Nadeem is also pleasant person.Nice attitude.Room for prayer as well. An amazing dining experience for everyone; whether you go on your own, as a couple or a family, you will definitely be wowed! The food is one of the best I have had and coming from a family restaurant background since the early 80s, trust me I know what I'm talking about. The food aside, the service is 5 star and don't even start me on their desserts which are freshly made and taste great... you can't beat that, 3 visits so far and I will be back for more.

Best food we've had in a very very long time and im not just talking about derby...i can't recommend this place highly enough. Every thing was of the highest standard from friendly and professional staff, complimentary papadoom and pickles (hence why we couldn't find them on the menu 😂) and that first bite of that starter (meat platers for 2) 😋😍 and such generous portions too. No wonder when viceroy and shalima gold were empty these guys were turning away customers because they were fully booked so if you're thinking of going there on weekends or bank hol then I'd recommend you book first.

Great evening at Tarka! Great venue, classy, modern decor, cool selfie walls. The serving staff were really friendly and attentive; offering advice and information on the menu when we asked. The food was excellent. I would recommend the sharing starter platter, the meat was cooked beautifully. The puddings were absolutely delicious, the cookie dough was made freshly to order, melt in your mouth.

Excellent service, location, options, variety and taste. The menu is extensive and food cooked to a high standard. Easily noticable that customer satisfaction is top priority.The drinks and dessert selection was quite impressive. Definately will be going back very soon
