George's Tradition - Chellaston in Derby

We had 2 fish chips mushy peas and a fish cake last night and the quality was absolutely awful the chips were hard dry and 80% had black or green on them, it was all luke warm and the young girl serving in the back burping out loud !! Such a shame won’t be visiting again used to be our favorite chip shop!

I was just served by such a rude member of staff, I am traumatised. She got my order wrong, and was slamming the boxes and giving me dirty looks, never mind an apology for not taking my order properly. She made me feel like the stupid one, when it was her that failed to take my order properly. When I spoke to another member of staff about whether she now understood, she was so rude and said to her colleague ‘I’ve got this’ in a snappy way! No apology from her colleague either and I’ve got just spent £20 on rip off fish and chips, they can take the money but there is no decent customer service! I am horrified, my first night staying at Chellaston, what a horrible first impression. I don’t expect to get a response from anyone, as this might be an unprofessional family business. You would however do the right thing and refund me my money back!

I've been a fairly regular customer on gluten free Sundays but today was probably the last time I'll be visiting. Too many mistakes.Today I was handed my bag of of 5 meals but the contents felt smaller than I expected (certainly not £27 worth of food).I asked if there were definitely 5 meals in the bag and with a certain degree of arrogance I was told "yes, the piece of papers in the bag".Anyway I checked when I got to the car to find a completely wrong order of just 3 meals. Good job I hadn't driven home before checking.Not the first time in recent visit that a fairly bad error as been made

Always comes highly rated and recommended by friends but if I'm honest I just don't get the hype. Very stylish interioir/exterior which is reflected heavily in the price however, it is not reflected in the quality. Portions are of a mediocre size and the standard of the chips does not match what's being asked by the price. Maybe I'm missing something with this place but for me it's a hard pass.

Excellent service and tasty fish and chips.Not too crowded during day time but gets busy at night.Park at lidl on the opposite side to grab a quick meal.I love the curry sauce with my fish and chips

Went in the other day. I ordered two fish and chips, it was'nt busy. We are semi regular customers before we never have had any issues. This time we both ended up bad stomach's. It was all very greasy I got the impression it was old oil.

Fabulous chips, pukka pie was glorious too. Highly recommended 👌

Fantastic fish and chip shop. Pleasant seating area, great tasting food and with menu options that are a twist on the usual. Best fish and chip shop I've been in for ages. Extremely fast service. You won't be disappointed.
