We went for my daughters 21st Birthday !Good Bits - the starters and the sushi were amazing, very tasty and presented lovely - we kept saying this is fantastic and should come again ...until we got to the mains.Bad bits - The mains are diabolical - completely astonished at why they get this so wrong. I asked for a Beef ramen, it was a bowl of Miso that was intensely fishy (when i asked for beef) with lashings of noodles and chopped up green sushi rolls that is also fishy. My whole bowl was strange - looking a beef but every taste was fish - i couldn't eat it.My brother-in-law ordered the fish ramen and the fish is by means of fish sticks - completely vegetarian and unwrapped itself in the bowl looking like the cardboard loo roll dropped in the bowl. My daughter had the beef ramen also and left it. Me nephew had the beef box meal and this was better but not satisfactory - the beef was in a sauce that was laddled with lashings of honey, it was immensely sweet. My sister had the prawn tempura which looked quite nice.IF and i IF we were to go again, I would just order the starters and the sushi - but if there are other places of similar, we would most likely give them a try.

Food was nice but very expensive for what it was. We went early evening during the week and there was a lack of atmosphere - might be better when it's fuller. Didn't think it was good value and wouldn't go back.

Today was my first visit to MoonSha and what a wonderful place. It was quiet tonight but still a nice atmosphere and to top it off today was their first day using the most adorable robot waiter which was a wonderful addition to the experience.

Fantastic food and great service, highly recommended....and also, they have a Bellabot, possibly the cutest robot I have ever seen. Well worth the visit for that alone

Went for the tepenyaki. The food was fantastic, the chef was fun and playful, and the atmosphere was warm. Great time all round, until the bill came. Be prepared to spend roughly £50 per head, for a fish or meat tepenyaki, and a few drinks.

We travelled to Derby for the day and were delightfully surprised to find a Japanese restaurant. We started with some cocktail orders where the staff were very attentive and offered some recommendations. The drinks were very nice. We ordered the Chicken Gyoza and the Takoyaki to start, both dishes came much quicker than first anticipated. The Gyoza were fried, but perfectly crispy to a point where they were still soft. The flavours were good and the accompanying sauce paired very well. The takoyaki were a real treat, a beautifully cooked batter full of flavour and covered in a pair of sauces that fit the dish perfectly. We both then ordered the duck and plum sauce 'Kamo duck' bento box. This also arrived pretty quickly. The sauce was amazing, and the duck was melt in the mouth. The salad was fresh and seasoned really well, salad doesn't have to be boring it was very tasty. The rice was perfectly cooked, sticky and fluffy. But wait, let's get back to the sauce because I cannot understate how good the sauce was with the accompanying duck. I was ready to charge into the kitchen and attempt to steal any form of supply they had of it. All in all, it was a fantastic dive into the world of Japanese cuisine. The staff tried to be very attentive, the place may need a little more work but they are definitely capable of doing so much. A very expansive menu with a lot to offer. We'll definitely return if we're in the area again. If there was a greater demand for Japanese food, I can see this restaurant doing great things.Thank you Moonsha, hope to see you again.PS. We were a bit eager on the Gyoza before took the photo. You usually get 5 :')

Noodles were nice. Though very salty and too much sauce! I enjoyed the Lichitini!

I hate to leave bad reviews, but this was a truly awful dining experience. They brought the wrong order to my wife, when we told them they took it away, then a few minutes later they came back with the dish to ask if she was sure she didn't want the wrong dish instead, only begrudgingly accepting that we actually wanted what we ordered. I ordered the chicken yaki soba in the photo and it was the saddest dish I've ever had, just noodles, onion, chicken and sauce. Very very disappointing. We ordered sushi and it was tiny, there wasn't even soy sauce provided with it. Even the lemon and coke was disappointingly watered down. The atmosphere was terrible, there were only 2 other diners, and no music for about half an hour, then 2 songs, then silence again. The majority of the "ambience" was provided by a shrill alarm alerting the staff to another takeaway order and a constant stream of delivery drivers walking in an out. It really was bad. I was astonished to see displayed on the walls awards won in previous years, they must have seriously gone downhill by 2021. I can't imagine how it could have been much worse unfortunately.

Delicious sushi and lovely presentation. The owner of this place is super nice, welcoming and is very passionate about the food.We ordered the Moonsha absolute platter and were very satisfied with our selection. Overall it was a great experience.
