Spice Lounge in Derby

Lovely place to eat. All the staff are friendly & attentive to your needs. Most importantly, the food is delicious & amazing.

Well priced on the set menu, found the Mirchee Masala to be a bit bland but all other food was great. Would come again.

Nice food though the portions weren't very big and there wasn't much meat in the curry. The rice portion wouldn't fill a standard takeaway container which was disappointing!

Lovely place. Friendly staff, had popadoms and pickle tray which was very nice. I had chicken chat and it was really tasty and we'll presented. My husband had a mixed starter with lamb, chicken and a butterflied prawn and he liked that. We shared a chicken jalpathia as we wouldn't have been able to finish if we had a curry each. It was delicious, it was hot with green chillies from the jalfrazi, and hot sweet and sour from the pathia. We had a plain naan with it and there was plenty. Really enjoyed all the food, wish there was a spice lounge in Rotherham.Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The first time we were served well and the chicken shashlik they brought us out on a hot stone. The second time, we were seated at a dirty table and I asked to wipe the table to keep it clean. We ordered a chicken shashlik and a king prawns shashlik. This time they brought to us just in plates, not on a hot stone . We also ordered papadam which they brought burnt and had hair. There are no salt, pepper, paper napkins on the table.

My first Indian food experience has most likely spoiled me because I may never find Indian food or service this good again. I had the Jalpati chicken with lemon rice and some plain naan. The green and red chiles set this dish off perfectly! Everything was tasty and the staff was very attentive and gracious. I highly recommend this restaurant whilst in Derby.

Absolutely fantastic, fit us in with no booking, lovely friendly staff as always and great food. Encouraged to try something different by the water and definitely worth it. Reasonable too, order before 8 for early bird special, on every day. Did I tell you I love it

Good food, nice atmosphere. Early bird is a good deal too. There were a few of us and I think because of that it was a little slow to arrive and the dishes varied in warmth.

Delicious and great service. Not too expensive either. The Syrian beef was outstanding. Need to book as gets very busy on Saturday night..
