The Markeaton in Derby

I visited The Markeaton on my Birthday yesterday they serve great food and drinks.The staff were very polite and looked after my every need i would highly recommend this pub for families it also has a large beer garden for the kids to run riot. I can't fault this pub.

One star dropped for not having a dog friendly area inside. It's a big pub, plenty of room. Good selection of beers and reasonably priced food with some good offers.

Had two orders off you now since you’ve been on Deliveroo and I must say it doesn’t disappoint. The food is incredible , the portions are perfectly sized and couldn’t fault one thing about the food ! Keep up the good work

I went for a family Sunday lunch last week and we all had various starters and main courses. My sirloin steak was char grilled overcooked and unchewable. Microwaves pinging and deep frying, so I assume from frozen, as were the vegetables and roast potatoes which I couldn't cut with my steak knife. I sent it back and ordered a turkey Sunday roast instead as I was watching my son trying to cut/tear his roast beef dinner to eat it. For the price of the meals, £11.99 and £9.99 respectively, I surely wasn't hoping for too much in a bog standard fresh(ish) Sunday lunch.My family members were quite happy with their choice of platters and starters, but getting the food at the same time wasn't an option when some paid by app and some at the bar. Such a shame, as the pub itself looks great.The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

Such a lovely pub and great food. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. In the winter they the fire is on so it’s lovely and cosy, in the summer there is a ample sized beer garden so is ideal all year round! They also do beautiful cocktails which you just can’t say no to!

My granny's favourite eatery. She passed away in December 21 and this may be one of my last visits. The staff have always been lovely to her. The food had always had lots of great staple options, and a large glass of Merlot always accompanied the meal. The Markeaton will always have a special place....

We had our office Christmas meal there early December and we loved it. It's a wonderful place, with kind, helpful and professional staff. Looking forward to going back there with my husband, hopefully when omicron variant infection rates go down. Thank you

Really nice ,cosy feeling to this place although it is quite a large pub.staff were really on it and very welcoming! The menu was classic pub but also some nice salad,fish and vegan options! Good choice of starters and delicious puddings! Also a set price lunch menu and lite bites! Good choice of beers and a very good atmosphere !

1st time eating here and it was a Fantastic meal. My wife and I were extremely impressed with the friendliness and speed of service. Great quality food - will definitely be back

Wow the staff are amazing and a brilliant food menu(tastes beautiful) the staff are so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend that you have a trip to The Markeaton 👌🙂
