Bank note in Derbyshire Dales

Bank, as it is now called...just Wow! Stopped for a drink in the afternoon, and popped back in on way home. Stumbled upon their quite legendary music night - best night out at a pub in years! Thank you so much to the most amazing landlord x

Great place to eat, good food, really clean. Friendly owner and very helpful

This is a great little place for sitting and people watching for a few hours. Paul, the owner is a great guy who can't do enough for you. He is very friendly and has plenty of time for his customers. He serves a great pint and they also sell food (we will be returning for food). If you are in matlock bath and have some time to kill, this is the place to do it.

Great staff, excellent food. Not the cheapest, but well worth it. Will definitely visit again

we have stayed here over night and used the bar and cafe, we come back here time and time again as the accommodation is comfortable and clean. The food from the cafe is so nice and tasty, thank you Jane and Paul for making our stay very enjoyable

Myself, partner & Barney the Sheltie have just returned from taking mother and father in law to The Bank Note for breakfast and would highly recommend it.It was very busy as it was Bank Holiday weekend & beautiful weather so was not suprised when we were told there would be a 45 minute wait for food. That was fine as it gave us chance to have a chat & a lovely cuppa. The wait was well worth it as the food was excellent, we had a couple of breakfasts, one full English & beans on toast with egg. All food is cooked to order so it was piping hot & tasted delicious 😋The owner & his staff were very friendly whilst obeying the covid rules & made us all feel very welcome. Barney was given a few dog biscuits & the owner even offered to bring him a sausage out 🙂We have eater here a few times & will continue to do so.Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Walked down from matlock found a table served straight away they also do food the next table was having a great fry up I do love calling at this pub always great service will be back soon no doubt

I am assuming man is owner tall with glasses on, very rude and abrasive, obviously doesn't like people. We walked in ready to wait for a table and to sign the track and trace thing he opens door quite forcibly from outside and it hits me in back and I get a mouthful in a nasty manner Don't stand behind the door in future. I was stood there as I stated earlier to be seated etc. I and my party looked at each other and walked out. Went to Heather's and spent our money there and what a beautiful coffee and cake that was. One thing I cannot stand is bad manners from people regardless.

I've been visiting the bank note for quite a few years now. I've had many fine breakfasts there and today had some lunch with my daughter. The food had always been freshly cooked and prepared, very high quality and standard & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The staff and owners are absolutely lovely and really make your visit special. Thank you for yet another lovely meal & see you again soon.
