Lovely pub, Very cosy and nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Excellent food. Would highly recommend the steak night, just had a mixed grill which was wonderful. Big portions and nicely cooked. Pub in a great location and nice garden space for the warmer weather.

Lovely atmosphere, great beer and the best pub pie I have ever had. In short, we loved it and will definitely be returning. Tip, book a table as all bar one was pre-booked when we arrived - good sign though.

What a wonderful pub with such lovely staff and atmosphere. We visited with our 16 month old daughter and we all had great food with equally good service.

Found this pub today just off the beaten track but well worth the visit. Almost next to the Cromford lights before Matlock Bath. The place is quaint with good beers and food is excellent. I did find the prices a little steep but well worth it when it came. Staff very friendly and helpful. After your meal look in Scarthins bookshop a little higher up the road

We absolutely love this little pub, whenever we stay in the area we always eat here, we are in Cromford now, and have reserved a table for 3 night's, The food is delicious and generous, last night rack of lamb, and tonight ham hock, very generous portions, staff are super friendly and helpful. Tonight we were treated to some light entertainment in the form of one man a ukelele and a sing song, would we eat here again, yes and we can't wait.Bev & Andy

Lovely, cosy pub, with friendly staff. The food was excellent and the drinks good too. Open fires and lovely atmosphere. Didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend.

Excellent home made food. Best steak and Ale Pie for a long time. Good selection of drinks available. Warm cosy surroundings. All staff friendly. Landlady is second to none. Managed to squeeze our food order in before a 10 person Christmas Dinner. Will deffinately be trying her Pie Night. 10 out of 10!!

Thanks to everyone at the Boat ... we called in on the off chance to get an evening meal when visiting the historic Mill and they squeezed us in. Very attentive ... but not obtrusive staff who went the extra mile to make us welcome and delivered a superb pub meal ... pie and chips .. well it was rude not to take advantage of the 6 different special pies on for pie night. Good selection of local beers and all the normal drinks. Nice atmosphere and a definite place to revisit when we go explore Cromford againProper English pub!
