A favourite. Despite being pretty busy (a good sign itself!) they managed to fit us in for lunch "as long as we didn't mind sitting in the bar" - of course not! it's comfortable and our priority was food and drink (not in that order!). Great pies and, despite being busy, not a long wait.

Cute little pub near our holiday cottage. I agree with the views that it’s more of a restaurant than a pub. We didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food, but beer was at a great price. We sat outside in the sun and played cards, lovely atmosphere

Don't let that flight of stairs put you off! This pub appears to have had a makeover since my last visit so it feels fresher and brighter.Nice range of beers and great views; you can see up to Curbar Edge. There's also a large car park which is great given the pub itself is quite hidden away from the busy roads around Calver.

Cracking pub off the main street of the village. Tiered beer garden and cosily decorated pub. Excellent menu with good vegetarian options, and the Ploughmans (with extra cheese instead of pie, even if that is a blasphemy) was fab. Friendly staff and even though the decor is lovely, its IS a dog friendly (and slightly muddy boots friendly) pub.

We spent 3 nights, end of February. We stayed in the dog room, very comfortable, big bathroom. Never ending supply of tea and coffee and fresh milk.Food was superb, every dish we had was exceptional, really good value and professionally presented. The staff and the service was excellent, everyone was really friendly and happy to help.Breakfast is designed for burning calories off later, but as we were not hill walking, I opted for the Granola, Yogurt, fruit, which was a massive bowl full and with added toast, left me full to lunch. I did have the full english on the last day and really nicely cooked and enjoyable. More than enough !Overall, a really nice place to stay, defiantly recommend it. Always remember to book dinner, because it was packed out every night we were there and this village is in the middle of no where.Always book direct and get a discount :)

It's well over 10 years since we last visited the Derwentwater Arms and we were pleasantly surprised to see how it's changed. It wasn't very busy when we arrived but within minutes the pub bar filled up, the locals were very friendly the staff welcoming and the Guinness was excellent. The food served in the restaurant was plentiful and very good.I'd certainly recommend a visit and we'll definitely be going back.

Wonderful home made food, with lovely staff who are very approachable and helpful. The steak and ale pie by Tom was amazing! Dog friendly in the bar area too. Bonus 🐾! Recommend if you're in hope valley looking for a place to eat. 🥗
