Can't comment much in the cycle hire as we took our own bikes, however the bicycles we saw looked very good and the hire shop looked very professional. The cafe was very busy my only criticism was there was a bar that sold beer and ice-cream but it was not manned, maybe a sign-in showing the difficulty they have in recruiting. The trail was brilliant, and there are a number of cafes along it to take refreshments We did not eat in any as we had our own packed lunch, but all looked good. The trail. Is good for cycling or walking, got busy towards lunch time, minor niggle was people not sticking to the left side of the trail. Will be a regular place to visit in the future for us.

Great time hiring bikes and cycling the Monsal trail. Personally I think cycling is the best way to experience the trail. We're not exactly regular cyclists but we're reasonably fit so managed to do the trail there and back in an hour and a half. It's flat and the track is well maintained. At Miller's Dale there is even a converted station next to the track selling drinks and snacks, plus toilets too. Cycling through the tunnels was chilly but good fun! Bike hire was very reasonable at £15 per adult bike for 2 hours. Plenty of parking but I would imagine gets very busy at weekends. We were there about 9:30 on a Wednesday and had the trail pretty much to ourselves for most of the first hour or so. Look out for the pigs in the woods!

Visited after a walk on the Monsal Trail. Good choice of food, nice surroundings. I had soup of the day, quite pricey but decent portion sizes. The hot chocolate and the carrot cake was amazing.

Lovely big external seating area and looks lovely inside. The food was tasty too. I'm only taking off a star as they seem to have got rid of the 'ordering from table' option, which led to a very long queue for the counter and made it awkward to come in and out of the building to toilets/seats etc.

Been quite a few times over recent years but over time and being on speaking terms with some staff a culture of bullying seems to prevail from the 2 bosses there. Therefore I no longer support that establishment. The chef puts out good quality food however and he is not involved in this reprehensible behaviour.

Great little spot. Food great, nice gift and book shop. Outside covered seating area has overhead heating so no problem with weather. Fantastic access to the Monsal trail and bike hire is available.

I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. The coffee (latte) is just perfect, exactly to my taste and served with a little decorative swirl of milk on top shaped like a leaf. I don't know how they do it (I'm no barista by any means) but it always makes me smile! On our most recent visit, we got a table easily and the service was quick, despite it being fairly busy. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

Quick service (once with, and once very much without a smile!) pretty good soup, but the worst chip butty / fries sandwich ever made. Probably three times cooked and aged/ aka left to go cold each time. That should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen. Nice enough place & other peoples food seemed to look ok..

Great for anybody walking the Monsal Trail. Order by app and your food arrives. Lovely heated outdoor area. The cheese scones are gorgeous! Will visit again!

After Thornbridge was full and run out of food, we went here. Outside was chilly and damp sure to the weather but we got tables inside. Great food and lovely staff. Definitely recommend a stop here. Car park is pay and display, but it accepts cards.
