Herbert's Fine English Tearooms in Derbyshire Dales

Friendly staff, food was lovely! Plenty of seating and bike racks for anyone doing the tissington trail, lovely views of the church and hall whilst having a cuppa.

It's several years since I have been here. What a wonderful cafe, dealing really well on this really busy day.A varied menu with excellent food. Our party of 4 had 4 different meals all including salads which were all different! It was lovely in my meal to have pomegranate included in the salad.Very efficient and professional service.

We come to Tissington often. It's always intriguing to watch the duck pond change over the year and in Spring when the chocks arrive and the coots build their nest in the middle of the pond. Lovely walks around the village. Get an ice cream at the little sweet shop or have a snack lunch at Herberts Tea Rooms. It's a great trip out. Highly recommend a visit. ☺️

Lovely homemade food, my soup was delicious. Son had chicken burger and my husband had goats cheese tart. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Our dog behaved very well thankfully.

Middle aged lady did not make us welcome and was grumpy.Nearly walked off 🤔Ok coffees and TeasA pity it's only takeaway cups.Only outside places bench tables available.Scones with jam and cream were nice but again all in takeaway packing.Was not impressed today.

Nice place to sit and relax with a cup of tea. Polite staff, clean tables etc. I had a pot of tea with an extra small jug of boiling water which enabled me to have 4 cups of tea while her indoors had her usual coffee fixWe will call again at Tissington as it was a nice day out, there is a nice hand made candle shop and everything candle is made there.

Stunning location. Visited for lunch following biking on the Tissington Trail. Herbert's is a 1 minute ride off the trail downhill. Uphill for 0.3 mile going back to the trail. A fantastic range of food and drink from light bites to full meals and beautiful cakes and desserts. Everything reasonably priced. Staff couldn't of been more accommodating and made a fuss of us from start to finish. Will be returning.

My Wife & I had a lovely Beef burger🍔 with stilton, bacon, tomato & lettuce inside with a relish.We had Sweet potato fries too on the side.Very delicious the drinks were a pot of tea☕.I would of given it 5 stars but the place was freezing cold. But the staff could not of been any nicer or more helpful.We would definitely recommend anyine to go as we will again.👍🙂

Great place to stop and enjoy the quaint scenery, however the tea room itself was a bit disappointing for what you got. Frankly, we think that tearooms should have better cake and cheaper tea ! Chip butties are available. Good idea for the marquee cover, however underneath it was quite dark and you couldn’t see around the little village. As an aside, if you look behind you on the wall whilst ordering, you can read a funny newspaper article Sir Richard FitzHerbert, who inherited the Tissington estate and his wife (packed up from London to move to the country) who manage the Hall next door. (We’re not too sure how we still remember this a few months later.) Toilets are very clean and plenty of room. Water refills are available if you ask, friendly staff !

Seriously quaint tea room, offering warm scones, steaming hot teas and coffees, homemade cakes (look out for their Biscoff bakes) and afternoon tea. A must visit when visiting Tissington, make sure you stock up here before wandering into the village to see ducks and fluffy ducklings frolic in the nearby pond. If the sweet stuff isn't for you, grab a takeaway drink from Herbert's, plant outside and people- and dog-watch for a few hours whilst soaking up the sunshine.
