The Bakewell Tart Shop & Coffee House in Derbyshire Dales

Stopped in after a busy day of hiking keen to eat authentic Bakewell tarts. I got a few huge slices of both iced and traditional to take home. They are absolutely divine! It’s hard to decide which one I prefer more. Prices are extremely reasonable, too. The staff were also very friendly :)

Retraining as a ploughman to justify this lunch. Simply the best ploughman’s lunch I’ve ever had.The Huntsman’s pie was so tasty. Pork, chicken and stuffing. Such great portions I saved half to take home and I don’t usually ask for a doggy bag.We always visit this shop when we’re in Bakewell. The Bakewell tarts are the finest we’ve had. We always buy them from here. My partner had the Homity pie and loved it. We saved the Bakewell tarts for our afternoon coffee.Another thing. The staff are lovely. Really lovely. They were especially attentive to the elderly couple next to us ( who were chuckling at my doorstop ham sandwich). It’s so nice to see. The young chap who took our order was so polite and efficient. The owner is so nice. Thanks to all. We’ll see you when we’re next in from Manchester. The lunch more than refuelled me from the parkrun! 😀

We enjoyed a lovely lunch followed by Bakewell tarts at this Tart Shop. The staff were very accomodating to our party of 6 adults and 2 children (after rearranging some of the tables). We enjoyed the Homity Pie (a local speciality), Soup of the Day, Ploughman's Lunch and more, and finished off with a range of Bakewell Tarts and Slices. The staff were friendly and even entertained the children.

Whenever we visit Bakewell we always have lunch at The Bakewell Tart Shop and always bring home a couple of Bakewell Tarts. Yesterday it was my birthday and so spent the day in the town…whilst chatting to our waitress, my husband mentioned that it was by birthday and when she brought out his pudding, she also presented me with an iced Bakewell Tart with a lit candle and sang Happy Birthday. It was such a wonderful gesture…thank you for making my birthday so special. We will see you again soon.

You have to stop here if visiting Bakewell. We looked at a few other shops to buy a traditional Bakewell tart but this place looked the best one.

Just got a yummy bakewell tart and some strawberry and champagne cookies (they have a great selection of different types of cookies). . Such a lovely lady working there this morning. Would definitely recommend and I will be returning next time I'm in town.

We couldn’t walk around Bakewell without a stop for something sweet… and it doesn’t get much sweeter than this combo…We admit to doing some Googling for the best Bakewell Tart, there is so much choice, and this little charming spot ranked high.It was as busy as you’d expect but the staff were buzzing round like little Bakewell Bee’s making sure everyone was well fed and watered!The tart itself was superb, as we write this we both have a real hankering for some more and are regretting not bringing some for the journey home.Bakewell is a charming little place to spend an afternoon, lots of coffee shops, food options and a good smattering of traditional pubs!! We had a lovely time!! 🧡🧡🧡Our fave things: It’s all about the Bakewell Tart! WE WANT MORE, WE WANT MORE!!! 🤤😂

Found the staff very cheerful and friendly. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea for two. Sandwiches and scones were fresh and tasty. A little too sweet with the iced Bakewell tart and millionaire shortbread. Although that did not stop us from devouring everything.

Amazing experience. The staff were so nice and accomodating. They also did an amazing job of making sure the kids had appropriate food options. Food was excellent for all but be warned it's often busy! But that's how good it is. Well worth it.

The Bakewell Tart Shop, very nice shop with big variety of sweets, tarts, cakes, savoury pies and chutneys. Nice place to sit in also. Friendly and polite staff. Delicious and definitely "baked well" tarts ☕🥧🍰
