Short Break, we took Lottie our Cockerpoo with us, the accommodation was excellent. down stairs room with French doorsleading out onto a large outdoor space with seating. The food was amazing good home cooking .So peace full, Lottie was allowed into the restaurant where she sat next to the table watching the world go by.A relaxing / good time was had by the 3 of use thanks to all the staff at Ye Olde Bowling Green Inn.

We would not give less than 5 stars the only tiny thing was the internet in the room although they offered wifi and we could use it at the breakfast. To be honest, we had to do some work but after all it was even better to do not have it. Breakfast was big and delicious, the place is cosy, friendly, clean. We enjoyed our time.

Don’t bother with it - find somewhere else. The only saving grace is one bar maid who was very pleasant. The two others working there were rude; one of which seemed drunk.Rooms were dirty and uncomfortable. The bed sheets were grimy and old: pillows and blankets had stains etc. Couldn’t even go barefoot in the room the carpets were so grim. There wasn’t any heat in the rooms either. There’s also no wifi in the rooms. The floor boards above were so squeaky you won’t be able to sleep. Squeaky doesn’t do it justice... It felt like someone upstairs could have fallen through the ceiling at any point. Paper thin walls and ceilings/floors mean you can hear people watching TV, talking and snoring.Could barely fit in the shower, and the water wouldn’t stay hot. The cold shower complimented the cold full English breakfast in the worst way possible. To cap it off, the dinner we had left me feeling ill but the fish and chips gave someone in my group severe food poisoning. They weren’t apologetic and offered no refund.Overall: have a pint and be on your way asap.

very comfortable room excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff, particularly Pauline, who made our stay most pleasant. Well situated for touring area. WiFi availability was only weakness, but not enough of a problem to worry!

Had Lunch, Evening Meal and Breakfast, and the food was Wow amazing, staff really friendly holiday let room was warm and cozy, even dog friendly. Highly recommend. This is an old beautiful country pub, full of character, and yes the odd squeak but that is the charm of an old building. Research shows it even comes with the odd or 2 friendly ghosts 👻 Had a brilliant time and would definitely make a return visit.

Nice room with a lovely view. Slightly cold, could not figure out how to turn the heating up. Should have asked, but did not, so my own fault. Room adjacent to pub with great food and lovely people, fire place and great atmosphere.

Very disappointing- failed to live up to some of the positive reviews we were expecting. Lots of very loud creaking noise from floor above when any movement from guests and was woken more than once in the night. The room was clean and the shower was adequate, plenty of hot water. Although the radiator in the room didn't work, but after notifying the bar staff they did provide a portable heater. However the evening meal was pretty atrocious , we had samosas and battered white bait and both were cooked to a crisp and the after taste was burnt oil. The mains were not good either. The service wasn't great never once asked if all ok, and was difficult to complain as the only person front of house was the one bar staff and you had to push in front of regulars at the bar to get attention, of which was embarrassing. Breakfast- the full english was plentiful but the Bacon was either over cooked of had been re heated-it was like cardboard. there wasn't any cereal or fruit juice available or brown bread and the coffee tasted like had been re heated from evening before-it was revolting, but did bring me a pot of tea when requested. In brief, if any customers do stay at the bowling green inn as the location is good, then if you want a good night's sleep, really steer clear of room 2 if at all possible, the noise above is shocking !

Just come back for a night away for my sisters 50th, there were 9 of us. We all got rooms together, nice and clean. Really laid back establishment. Breakfast was beautiful, everything was great, will definitely go back again xx
