The Crown Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

Meeting up with a friend and we needed to be half way between each of us travel-wise. Found this little gem by looking at Google maps. Lovely village pub in a pretty setting with a very extensive menu. Great food and service. I'd definitely recommend.

As normal this place always delivers on food,service and location.We have never been disappointed when using The crown can't wait to return.

Going to Alton Towers? Spend less staying here and get far better value for money. This is a gem of a Hotel, staff are excellent, levels of cleanliness are superb, food is quite fantastic and the rooms are tasteful and comfortable.What stands head and shoulders above for me was the customer service. From start to finish nothing was too much of a problem from asking to re-jig the menu due to my dietary requirements to opening up breakfast earlier than stated just to allow us to eat before getting on our way very early.The hotel itself is in a beautiful location, a good looking building with a small parking area and beer garden, there's also the option of alfresco dining on one of two terraces.Menu is great, selection of drinks is superb. I would honestly recommend staying here anytime especially when facing huge accommodation bills the closer you get to Alton Towers, it took us 15 minutes to get from this hotel to the gates.....

Lovely Chateaubriand and very good chips. They gave us Peppercorn sauce instead of Blue cheese, but they rectified this as soon as we told them. Very good Brownie. The staff were friendly.

What a gem. Well worth the detour to find it. Great service, lovely food and ales.

Came here with my family and my dad in a wheelchair, really welcoming and amazing gone the extra mile to help us, even brought ice for are dog.

We liked this pub. We stayed overnight and the room was clean and comfortable. It's an old building, so we could hear the people in the next room at times. Breakfast was excellent and it was busy in the evening with locals having a drink or people with children having a meal. It has been renovated and looks well appointed. It doesn't have an open air pub garden, which on a lovely day is a little disappointing but it is set in a beautiful, quiet village and the staff and locals were friendly and welcoming. There was a problem with mosquitoes in the bedroom which had been sprayed before we got there, and hoovered when we arrived, so we kept the windows closed and weren't bothered by them at night. I would like to give 4 stars but the room wasn't ready (dead mosquitoes all over the room) and the water carafe was not filled. Probably staff shortages, affected this. However we would stay again.

Can highly recommend this hotel. We stayed here with family members to attended a wedding locally last week. Really friendly and accommodating staff, our room was stopless with a big comfortable bed. Absolutely delicious breakfast the next morning . Thank you for an enjoyable stay 😊
