Excellent food in a lovely, rural pub near Chatsworth. Portion sizes about right, with imaginative menu that can be adapted for gluten free. Service friendly and helpful. Relaxed environment.

Devonshire Arms is great hotel in a special location on the Chatsworth Estate. The welcome was good, the food exceptional . Only lost a star because our room was very cold on arrival and, disappointingly, not enough done to address this.

We were fortunate enough to be bought a gift voucher for a midweek B&B stay. It's a beautiful place in the heart of the Chatsworth estate. The room was classed as "petit" but was very comfortable and roomy with a coffee machine and a few welcome goodies🙂 It was high a high standard in terms of quality and finish.Breakfast was fantastic, tasty and plentiful with great service. We also stayed for an evening meal, sat beside a log burner on a cool winters night was glorious. The menu was quite limited but a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options on what I would class as "fine dining" the food was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic alongside a great range of local beers and classy wines, I really can't find fault as the service was brilliant too BUT this wasn't a budget break, this was a treat and the cost reflects this.

prebooked a table for 7 on 1pm thursday, it was very good the pub arranged a room for ourself. the menu was very limited and no sandwiches. It took too long to serve meals. the meals were tasty except the burger was over cooked, not enough chips and not juicy. the charge extra £5 for cheeseboard was not worth the value.

A bit of a wait for the first course, everything with chips but we asked for mash, with the beef it was superb. The rice pudding was delightful. We will be in February.

Very disappointedAs returning customers after a few years the experience was nowhere near as good as our previous visit.Service was very slow. Food was ok, but not the quality it was pretending to be ....the Risotto tasted like rice pudding on the desert menu had been mixed with the soup on the starter menu! The extra bits sprinkled on the top were lovely, but a shame it was also presented with a thick skin on top from standing. The young waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Unlike the lady in charge who was very abrupt and abrasive, and tainted our experience by trying to intimidate and bully us into card payment only, when we wanted to pay by cash and were leaving the change. (This was without any prior communication on booking or when called to confirm, or signage of this on the day. Again poorly managed.I doubt now that we will ever come back again.

Just came back from a great stay. We stayed in the four poster room which was incredibly comfy with a lovely view over the new kitchen garden. Josh and the team were welcoming, diligent and really friendly, they really couldn't do enough for us. In current busy stressful times for the hospitality industry this team really excelled and provided a great service with a smile. We had the vegetarian options for dinner which we really enjoyed, quite often alternative food options can be overlooked in country pubs but instead thought and skill had been put into the menu. Thank you team, we look forward to returning in the future

Had the best Sunday lunch! The meat was generous and cooked amazingly well. The portion was great, more then enough. I had the beef, was so tasty. The service was fantastic too, served by such lovely ladies, Claire and Tracey. They were so sweet and made the lunch go from good to amazing. The Eton mess was next level good, went down so well. Would recommend this place for food in couples, groups and families. Hope to maybe stay there next time too.

This was our first stay at this fantastic pub. From our arrival to our departure the staff made us so welcome and were very friendly and helpful. We stayed on a dinner bed and breakfast package, the food was out of this world and the friendly waitress Holly served us with a smile and also gave us information about where the food had come from, even telling us that the local school children had set the potatoes that were used in the kitchen.I would certainly be back and would highly recommend this place to everyone.I will be back. 😀
