After a delightful walk by the river there's nothing better than a good cup of coffee and a tasty bite to eat. The Eating House ticked all the boxes, excellent choice that saited the appetite very nicely indeed.

Nice place to stop for lunch, food is excellent I particully like the hot filled rolls usually pork or beef which are very filling and good value. This place does get very busy so you need to be patient but it's worth the wait

Excellent lunch and friendly staff - a little on the pricier side but lots of food, good quality and bottomless tea/coffee. 👍☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

Excellent location, just at the end of lovely walk around Calver Mill. We sat outside under a canopy sampling the best Italian meatballs and slow cooked chunky chilli. This was served up with superb warm rustic bread and butter slabs. The setting was devine, will definitely return.

Visited on a cold day and sat with our coats on during our meal as there is little or no heating here. Food was good and staff were very friendly. On a summer's day I am sure it is a wonderful place to visit and we will probably return then if in the area.

told us breakfast had finished, then served another table behind us breakfast when they asked.. weird inconsistent service, can't comment on food as we left shortly afterEdit: In response to the restaraunt reply, in fairness to you I could have asked, it just would have been awkward after already being told it had finished and my mind was on which service stations would be doing breakfast on the 5 hour drive. I would recommend extending breakfast to 12 or asking the chef when people ask after 11.30. Appreciate the response and apology though, will give you guys another go based on this.

Arrived after a walk from Baslow along Curbar edge via Grindleford so was ready for a coffee and a bite to eat. The staff were very efficient, straight away got our 3 dogs a bowl of water and dog biscuits and then took our order. We didn't have to wait long for the best coffee I've had in a long time, nice and hot and strong. We only had some toast and marmalade as we had eaten earlier but even that was really tasty, so can't wait to come back to try something else off the menu. Definitely recommend a visit as excellent service, friendly staff and both us and the dogs were made very welcome 🐾🐾👍

Just chanced upon this place and very glad we did! Very varied menu, including for me, being gluten free. Sat in outside gazebos with our dogs, who were provided with water and gravy bones on arrival. Staff are great! Really friendly and helpful.

Had a nice vegan breakfast here. We found the breakfast to be good however we did feel £9 was quite a lot for a vegan breakfast which didn't have a tofu scramble with it. Other then that the staff were good and we did enjoy our breakfast.

A highly recommended fantastic eatery.Had an excellent vegetarian afternoon tea and there were lots of options on the menu too - all really reasonably priced. We have been really impressed with the food, the service and especially the Covid 19 measures. A really lovely cafe with extremely polite and pleasant staff. And thankfully they provide a doggy bag too! Will be sure to visit again! (oh and it’s dog friendly too! Dog water bowl and biscuits provided for our greyhound on arrival).
