"Located in the heart of Ashbourne, The Horns is a privately owned restaurant and cocktail bar offering contemporary Mediterranean dining in a relaxed and vibrant setting. The Horns is Ashbourne’s oldest bar and has been serving customers since 1535. Our food comes from the vast larder of authentic Mediterranean cooking with an added modern twist. We really love what we do, mixing good honest cooking with great service. The Horns is all about quality, provenance and fun – plus bringing tasty food to your plate. The Horns’ cocktail bar also brings the excitement and flamboyance of the Mediterranean to Ashbourne, with an expertly curated selection of classics, along with some old friends."

Walked in on a Friday. Delighted to find genuinely good Italian cooking (no pizza), modest but well chosen wine list, cocktails, great ambiance, charming service. We were blown away!

OMG what a little gem.We ate at the Horns at the weekend whilst away with friends. What can I say, the food was amazing. I had seafood linguine and it was sublime. If your in Ashbourne and looking for a nice quaint restaurant, go for this one.

This was an excellent find. Superb food and service to match. I had the Osobucco with Polenta and it was delicious and my wife had an equally good Sea Bass with Gnochi

I hate to say it, but this place tried to rip off me and my party. We were having a good experience, enjoying the food and drinks, and appreciating the service... until the bill came. We did some quick head math, and found that several items had been added to our bill that we didn't order. Then, we noticed that almost every single drink and cocktail was £1 more on the bill than the menu.Essentially, this place thought that they could add drinks to our bill and overcharge us without us noticing. This is unfortunate, because everything else was enjoyable about the dining experience aside from the fraud at the end.Picture 1: Our bill with a Negroni that costs £9Picture 2: The menu where a Negroni costs £8

We were given a warm cheerful welcome! The menu and specials explained making it easy for us to decide from a lovely comprehensive menu. Our cocktails were well made and the food delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable. Our bill was accurate. We’ll definitely return.

Friendly but slightly slow service - although I appreciate there was only one waitstaff there that night. We walked up without a reservation and they very graciously seated us. I'm giving 3 stars because while we found most of the food to be quite good, the ham croquettes didn't have any ham or bechamel like you'd expect from a classic Spanish croqueta, and in fact seemed to just be those potato croquettes you can buy in a supermarket and freeze. I still recommend this place - but just get the gnocchi or another tapa!

Lovely food, menu not too big which is great for quality. Felt safe, which is important, screens used so you had your own space. Would definitely go again, great to see Carlo back in the town.
