The Manners Hotel and Pub in Derbyshire Dales

I had fish and my MIL had a burger. Both were well prepared. The service was a bit slow but that was due to it being very busy in Bakewell that day. I would highly recommend this place for a lunch or dinner while you are in Bakewell.

Visited The Manners last night for the first time and it definitely won't be our last. Right from stepping through the door the visit was a total pleasure. No 'wait here to be seated' just attentive staff who took you to a table, returned to take your order and cleared away as soon as the meal was finished. Staff were plentiful, friendly and always on the ball. The food was full of flavour, hot, plentiful and served without delay. Having not been out for a while the prices were also what I would now consider very reasonable for the quality and service received. It was also nice to see that for early evening on a Wednesday the place had a fair number of customers creating a lovely atmosphere. We would certainly recommend this place for an excellent meal.

We stay here twice a year for the weekend with our dog, we’ve just had yet another fantastic stay, it’s never anything less. Lovely rooms, lovely pub, lovely food, good priced drinks. The staff and owners are all polite, friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they all even know our dog teddy by his name and always make a fuss of him as well as making us feel welcome,Just had a weekend stay and already booked again for November. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else In bakewell. Thank you, Sarah, Brian and all the lovely friendly staff once again. And another lovely breakfast!!

We stumbled upon the lovely "THE MANNERS" Pub while trying to find somewhere for lunch.How lucky were we!Our starter was Garlic Mushrooms on toasted Sourdough bread. This was not just Mushrooms on toast people this was seriously delicious on another level.😋💦🍄🍞🍴❤Then we moved onto the Hanging Kebab (Marinaded Chicken with Peppers,Mushroom & Red Onion with a garlic sauce to poor on it.There was a big bowl of skinny fries underneath. 😋💦 🍽 #heaven .Will definitely be back & the staff were lovely, polite & could not do enough for us.👍👏👏

What a lovely find! We stayed in Avenue House and our room no 2 was lovely. We ate most nights in the Manners Pub and both had different meals each time. Every single thing we chose was beautiful. Lovely and hot and freshly prepared. Breakfast was extremely good too. The staff were super and nothing was too much trouble. They were extremely helpful and friendly

The food was delicious! (had the hanging chicken skewers myself)Loved the decor and friendliness of the staff...even pet a few pooches around me at the bar!The only thing I could suggest is that there is a better variety of children's meals, as my 5 year olds portion size was tiny for him. Could have mini meals for younger kids with less of an appetite and a choice of larger meals for the older children with bigger appetites.Other than that, everyone enjoyed what they had and we had an enjoyable experience.

Outstanding pub food. Probably the best pie I have ever had in a pub (and my waistline proves I’ve eaten a few!). Proper portion of veggies too. Good beer selection (I had the Wizard Amber ale) and cheery staff. I’d recommend it!

Fantastic food and great atmosphere with lovely attentive staff. They bought my toddler's food out quickly when i mentioned how hungry he was. He also really enjoyed the little garden as it has a swing which is so useful when traveling with a small child. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We booked a table for 12, a mix of adults and kids and the staff we're excellent. Attentive, patient and really friendly.Food was excellent, adults had a mix of pies, burgers and sausage and mash and all were lovely. The kids mini burgers were huge!Lovely pub, welcoming and attentive staff and great food!

We had dinner here tonight. We hadn't booked and were grateful they could squeeze us in as we arrived in town later than planned and very hungry. The pub had a great atmosphere and the menu offered a good choice at decent prices. Our meals (steak and risotto) were delicious. 5 stars. Would definitely recommend.
