Great pub for the end of a long walk in the peaks around kinder low and kinder scout. We ordered 2 pies and a nags head special. We were brought 1 pie and 2 nags head specials, but I certainly didn't complain when I saw the food. It was exactly what was needed after the long walk! The cider was very tasty as well and prices reasonable. The pub is very traditional inside with open fireplaces and stags heads on the walls, vast wooden beams on the ceilings and hanging iron chandelier style lighting. Lovely place! First time we've been and will definitely return. One tip, if you're coming to Edale come very early as the train station and visitor centre parking is full by 10am! This was in March too.

Excellent food, brilliant variety of beers and ciders. Lovely friendly welcome, lovely staff and family friendly. Busy but the quality and speed of food arrival was excellent. Toilets are a bit small but it's an old building and they work perfectly well. Exactly what we needed after a fantastic walk, we look forward to coming back again very soon.

A super food and watering hole after a hike. We ate here yesterday and the sausage and mash menu did not disappoint, although it was hard to choose, when the other Specials appealed too. As well as the good food and a pint of Farmers Blonde, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the pub charming and clean inside.

Very friendly and welcoming. Like's muddy boot's and paws. The food is lovely and the fire is wonderful for warming up and drying out🙂

Great pub, enjoyed it! Nice atmosphere, v popular with hikers. Staff excellent - v friendly and nothing too much trouble. Would definitely go back. Food was OK, not amazing. Would like the wines to be a bit more sensibly priced, eg small (125ml) Malbec £5, Large (250ml) £10 - wow!

Great cosy, traditional pub, perfect place for a drink after a long walk. Friendly staff and they sell scampi fries!

My girlfriend and I Climbed Kinder Scout on the morning of Sunday the 29th August 2021 and afterwards we visited The Old Nags Head for a well need lunch. We had a Sunday roast (turkey) and I have to say it was delicious. I always pop in for a pint of coke after a morning on kinder but thought I would try the food this time and I wasn't disappointed.

The food was so good and very much what was needed after a long hike! There was a great menu with something for everyone, a specials board and a fab selection of puddings.Whilst we had a bit of a wait for our food, the pub was absolutely full with most tables appearing to be eating so we expected this and it was fine.We also loved how dog friendly it was and how friendly & helpful the staff were.

Always promised myself to eat here -It was definitely worth the effort to get here. The walk was perfectly finished off by great food. It was quite busy but that didn’t stop quality and well cooked food to be served, consummate professionals in a well oiled system. Even when table moving around took place they were on the ball

Good food. Great Service/Staff. Hearty portions. Ideal spot for grub after a day hiking.A good amount of outside seating, currently some in a marquee, others with umbrellas. Ordering is done through a website.
