The Plough Inn in Derbyshire Dales

Excellent place to visit and a great base for exploring the Peak District. The rooms are comfortable with lovely bathrooms and the food is excellent. Would highly recommend and plan to revisit in the future.

A stone's throw from Hathersage and worth seeking out. Lovely beer garden. The brass sign on the bar made me laugh:All our customers bring us happiness. Some when they arrive; others when they leave!!I used to visit regularly in the late 80s / early 90s when it was a Stones pub. It's hardly changed since.

A warm Sunday with my gorgeous partner (female). Food is fabulous as always and the service is great. The French guy is so friendly and ads to the atmosphere. See you again very soon... Hope he's French.. He sounded French.

Firstly upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely member of staff on the bar, we then ventured outside to our table and awaited our drinks. Our drinks arrived along with a frosty reception from the member of staff who brought them out. We eventually ordered food after discussing most of the day that we had fancied a roast dinner. Our roast beef arrived, the presentation was lovely but our hearts sank at how rare the beef was, so rare that a good Vet could bring it back to life. I don’t mind pink beef but this was more like raw than rare. To top it off the cuts of meat were so fatty that neither of us ate it. My childs meal of sausages and chips looked lovely and she enjoyed it. The vegetables were nice but the beef and service were a let down!

The rooms were nice, except the cushion covers in mine didn't look clean. Extremely restricted vegetarian options for dinner. Breakfast was hearty, and the lovely owners were themselves greeting and serving guests. Best wishes!

A great pub and restaurant set in beautiful countryside and dog friendly too. They have a good varied menu in the medium price range for a pub.Our food was very good and good quantity also.Service was great and the table setting was very nice, particularly the cutlery.Parking was easy and the pub is in a good countryside position.

We have really lovely food at a lunchtime. The seasonal vegetables were cooked toperfection. Sausages really tasty. Service great

We stopped here for a meal on our way back to our cottage. The pub is a lovely welcoming place with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.We all had a main course only and each of them were great, the trio os sausage and mash was amazing and both plates were left clean. There was also a cauliflower steak meal, which went down very well. I had Hadock and chips, which was really, nice just a little over cooked, the home made tartar sauce was to die for.All in all, a very nice meal and a great pub to enjoy it in. We would go back if we were passing again.

Making a group booking was very easy especially as I had to amend it and increase the numbers. The service was very good. The menu sufficiently varied for my party. The meal was very well presented and cooked. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant.

Food was very nice, but not much food for the price in my opinion, it could do with an extra bowl of vegetables per 2 meals as the adults were all left hungry. The kids meals was a good portion. Took a while to get food as well but that was probably due to how busy the pub was. All staff very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly as well which is always a plus.
