The Red Lion in Derbyshire Dales

Always one of my favourite pubs to stop at for a quick pint on a long walk. Even more so this time due to all the snow! The pies are exceptional

Excellent pie. Perfect example of a country pub, roaring fires and friendly faces. Book ahead it is very busy.

Great village pub, friendly staff (along with 2 very friendly 4 legged residents), excellent choice of ales & beers along with some fabulous food. If I lived 80 miles nearer I'd be happy call this my local. 😁

Great freindly cosy pub, with superb food & ale. Dog friendly too.

Stayed in the two rooms for a birthday weekend with family. Friendly staff ( and dogs!) Cosy rooms, good buffet breakfast.We ate here both Friday and Saturday evening, good menu and great home cooked food.Extensive range of beers local and otherwise, felt like it’s the hub of the community.Very enjoyable stay, walks from the front door.

Booked in for Sunday lunch whilst staying in Tideswell. Great staff headed up by the Landlady. We, including the poodle, were made to feel very welcome. Nice cask beer and the beef pie is awesome, both in quality and stature. Glad we only had a short walk back to our cottage!

Superb home cooked food. Very busy pub on a wet Saturday afternoon in August but we were still offered a table for a couple of hours. Drinks, mains, desserts and a bottle of wine were gorgeous. Going back for sunday lunch.. Highly recommended 👌

Impromptu stop at this pub. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and given the quality of the food and drink it’s really reasonably priced. We both had the homemade steak pie and it was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

This is a very traditional English pub which has kept a certain old world charm . The service was excellent - polite , respectful and friendly . The food was really good - we had the fish and chips which was fresh with crispy batter . Followed by a very nice crumble .My only advice would be to improve little details like the chipped table mats .The pub is in a charming village and would really recommend .
