Lovely popular pub restaurant just off the main road at Hurdlow. All locally sourced ingredients making for some lovely food, and at decent prices too. Great staff keeping the punters happy. Recommend booking in advance as it does get busy so may not take walk ins. Both dishes we had were tasty and good size portions.

Took dad for his 91st birthday. As we had a dog with us we were seated in the room with the open fire which was really welcoming. We all enjoyed our food. I had the duck which was delicious and dad enjoyed his posh fish and chips (battered sea bass) There is plenty of choice on the menu and they also do a selection of tapas dishes.

A prebooked table for 4 was ready when we arrived 2:15pm. but the table was too close to the fire, staff was kindly relocated us to the oak room which we were the only customers in that room. we ordered our drinks and staff delievered what we ordered that orange juice top up with soda water without ice. we had been many pubs recently, not many staff in other pubs took notice what we were ordered (no ice). i should give extra 'star' for the staff .meals were delicious and in generous portion. highly recommended to anyone. the only drawback, the dessert price £7.95 is dearest compare with other pubs.the pub locates nearby high peak trail. A late lunch 2:30pm for us after walked 9 miles on wednesday. it serves home cooked meals and the menu is extensive. it took A bit of time to serve 6 meals. the dishes were tasty. the desserts were also ok.

Lovely countryside pub. Super friendly staff, super polite and accommodative, lovely vibe. Staff knew things about drinks and dishes. Local produce, delicious food. We had the lamb shank and pork belly and it all came after a short wait and it tasted fresh and beautiful. We had the local keg beers and the larger in particular was very good. You can go for a nice countryside walk after your meal. Will definitely be back. Don’t forget to book though as it was fully booked when we went!

Amazing pub with amazing food. Have been there twice in the past couple of days.We booked in advance because they don't usually take walk ins due to how busy they get.Service was really quick and made us feel welcomed as soon as we were seated.Dinner was amazing wr had starters main and dessert. There was an issue with the specials board and that it hadn't been updated so the food that was ordered wasn't what was expected. However staff rectified quickly and offered us a free dessert for those who were affected.Would definitely recommend for anyone who is in the area.

Just a great pub. Lovely food. Mega service. No daft prices. If you’re in the area looking for an easy and nice feed on an evening this place fits the bill.

Great little pub in the heart of the south Peak District tucked away with a great trail way just down the road to take in the stunning views. Staff were nice and friendly warm and welcoming. Visited here on day trip from Manchester. Up from Bournemouth but if I’m here again I will return. Food was delicious and arrived in good time well cooked and yummy. Good value too.
