Quirky shop, engaging, patient staff and the best fish I've ever had. Huge portions and nicely priced. Check out this legendary chippy. It must be the smallest chippy in the UK but it works like a well oiled machine. I would drive the 2.5hrs to go here again. Damn, I want a split with haddock now...

Best fish and chips ever...light crispy batter and all cooked to order. Mushy peas out of this world. Walked down from Eyam to Stoney Middleton as parking not too easy.Toll bar 5 stars 🌟

Wonderful service from smiling, friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Standard portions were massive and great fish and chips too. We were treated like royalty and given complimentary sweets for the children and mini Terry's Twighlight for the adults.Slight drawback, Liverpool supporter cooking the fish, major improvement ... Evertonian serving the chips. We ate outside alongside a running stream. What's not to like!

The standard cod was gigantic! Epic. And the staff was so nice! Incredible service, super fast! Great prices. A truly incredible experience!

Been here multiple times and is the best fish and chip shop locally in my opinion. Large/Good Quality Food with decent prices. Would recommend the Yorkshire Fishcake, Chicken bites and the Fish and Chips.

Unlike Mr Sacks (reviewer of 4 months ago) purports, numerous towns of many thousands in populace lack a fish and chip shop which can curate a special plate of deep fat fried fish and chips like this place does. It’s far from the regular, in my many years of fish and chip fanship, to find a great place like this.My friend who lives a minute walk away considers himself lucky and I am envious he’s got such a great chippy. No comment on parking matters, but clearly that’s par for the course when things are popular, on a main road and in an historic listed building. These facets ensure it’s open for business to serve you when you’re hungry.

Really friendly staff. Quick service but cooked fresh to order. The haddock was very large, fresh and delicious. Tasty chips. We had small chips but they were large by usual standards. All packed in trays at no extra cost. Best fish and chips ever and great value for money.

Since 1926 eh? I don't suppose that there were as many cars then as there are now unless the staycation has changed how this place does its business but parking was the devil's own business this afternoon and you can only feel sorry for the poor residents that have to put up with this nonsense as locals and tourists alike jostle for their fish supper. Yes it has a great reputation but some of the driving antics I saw in 15 minutes made my toes curl. Anyway, good chips, not bad cod (batter a touch greasy dare I say?) and the curry sauce got the nipper's thumbs up (yes you can do poor chip shop curry sauce apparently). It was quick given the volume they were getting through but for all the raving it's just another decent local chippy in my humble opinion.
