Wirksworth Fish Bar in Derbyshire Dales

Reasonably good fish and chip shop but not the best around and certainly not one of the best in England (see other review further down). In my experience, the chips have always been good, the pie choice is superb and the fish has been hit and miss. Curry sauce is excellent. Better than most around but could be better.

very friendly and very good value, too. excellent veggie burger(& plenty of choice for vegetarians.) definitely highly recommended.

A while ago I would of recommend this place but not now the only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the staff They are friendly n helpful

Really enjoyed our supper from here, tasty and nicely cooked. We had fish and chips battered sausage, steak pie and curry sauce. We've been to quite a few chip shops in our time and this one is now top of our list. Highly recommend.

Poor. Went here as reviews said it was good. £8.10 for Fish and chips. Ordered large chips but only size of regular. Fish was more batter than fish. Fish still had skin on. Chips tasteless and brown tinge. I suggest changing the oil . Staff also not very friendly despite my effort to make small talk. AVOID.

To be fair i went at 3pm but the chips were dry and chewy as was the sausage. Threw them away. Probably nicer food at peak hours when they aren't sat for too long

Most Fridays I have fish and chip Friday.Normally have cod which is always freshly prepared and lovely. Sometimes have haddock again very tasty.Portion sizes are excellent and the staff are very efficient and friendly.All up a first class chippy.

Without a doubt one of the finest chip shops in England. The chips are so well cooked, light and fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. My fish and battered sausage was cooked to perfection. I also had the curry sauce which was beautiful. Such friendly helpful staff too. I ordered over the phone, and it was ready within minutes of me arriving at the shop. Well done Wirksworth chipshop! I found out they do online ordering too, I was amazed!Def worth a visit!!
