Falcon in East Northamptonshire

We were on a walk in the area and stopped in for a break.Service was friendly if a bit slow.We were hoping to get a bar snack, but the lunch menu was mostly just main meals. However we chose three small items for £12 and a bowl of chips, which made quite a good lunch.

We ordered Fish&chips. A very small portion arrived, and whilst I thought that Fish&chips can't go wrong, I was wrong. That fish & chips was wrong!Extremely expensive.

We stopped at this Great old pub full of character for lunch halfway through a circular walk in the area. Friendly, but not the fastest service, Food was pleasant but not really what we were after. we and others asked for a light bite / sandwiches but these are not available..A missed opportunity IMHO.

Restaurant quality food without the stuffiness, attentive service and nice atmosphere.Had a meal for two mid week, it wasn’t busy, the food was excellent quality from the ‘pub food’ menu and the service was attentive without being overbearing. I’ve eaten at quite a few local places and this is some of the best food in the area. Only improvement might be some low music in the orangery but otherwise excellent all round.

I had hoped for a special evening with my daughter. Oh dear, although the service was excellent, the food was dire! Half cooked sausages with wet, unseasoned mash and ‘sea bass’?? Bits of curled up fish, under cooked potatoes and dried up veg.I’ve known The Falcon for 40 years and always loved it, please bring it back to its former glory!

Love this place. It has a great pub feel. We usually stop here, half way on our round walk from Elton via Warmington mill, through to Fotheringhay, back to Elton. We have also eating here, at various times & enjoyed the food too.

Party of 10 today. Food was excellent as usual. Highly recommend the Korean duck.Everyone in the party enjoyed their choices.Very attentive service .Our family from the USA always enjoy going to the Falcon , the surroundings make it special too

Dec '21Very nice modernised country pub in the fascinating, quaint & very historic village of Fotheringhay.We were greeted by a lovely wood fire that made the place feel very homely & cosy.There was a nice selection of traditional ales & modern beers & a very good food menu too.Nice friendly & helpful staff on hand.Large car park to rear helps keep the street parking available for local residents.

Food was fabulous, especially the Korean pulled duck leg! Excellent service. Highly recommended. Returned with friends a few weeks later. Food consistently good. Service still excellent, with friendly and informative staff. We will be going again!

Discovered The Falcon through an online news article and decided to give it a try. The Inn is located in a beautiful village with lovely views looking out over the church - which was amazing at night. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh ingredients and locally sourced where possible, and the range of food on offer was very goid. I've had the pleasure of eating at many excellent restaurants and gastro pubs, and this is certainly up there with the best. Also shout out to the lovely staff who made our meal so enjoyable, thank you...we will be back!
