Wadenhoe House in East Northamptonshire

Went for lunch today with my mother, who is 96, she found the stairs/slope to indoors a challenge but staff were really lovely and gave us advice on the easiest way in/out for future reference.Service was lovely, staff very attentive, food was excellent. The menu when you get there is much more extensive than it looks on the website.The gardens and decking areas are superb and our fault, we were put off sitting outside by a small rain shower but actually could have been much braver and sat out today. We will do next time!

Really good quality, tasty food cooked and presented perfectly, very friendly staff and welcoming locals that also enjoy a good chat which is always nice.As well as the delicious evening meal that we had they have a tearoom with a nice selection of cakes and scones and we also had a lovely breakfast in the morning as well.This beautiful place is definitely worth a visit, it is set right on the river Nene with lots of outdoor seating next to the river and lots of space for dogs as well.If you are arriving by boat then there's plenty of mooring for free if you're a customer of the pub and there's also a water point.

We were visiting the area and this location was recommended to us so we tried it out.When we visited there was ample parking. We visited for dinner on a week day evening.The atmosphere was great, entrance was friendly. The staff were extremely informative, not just about the current day and menu but also taking the opportunity to enlighten us on a 'themed pizza' evening once a week. I liked that. They didn't need to be asked for 'of the day' options, they informed us while giving us our menus. The menu contained a good choice and well priced.NOW!!! THE.. FOOD!!!! 🤤 I can't even begin to explain and I don't think I could do them justice by trying. All I'm going to say is FAULTLESS, perfectly seasoned and incredibly cooked!! We did starters and mains and we were both impressed.THE ONION RINGS 😭 ....THE ....CRUNCH , I ALWAYS give the onion rings to my husband, NOT THIS TIME, oh no, I couldn't, how could I? They were exceptional! Also, the chips, my god, they're wonderful, crispy and fluffy.Although you're an hour from our home, I will 100% be back! Thank you to everyone for our experience!

Nice looking pub and garden.We booked a week ago specifically for Sunday Lunch. When we arrived the staff seemed a bit lost. When we sat down we had to ask for menus, and then ask for Sunday lunch menus. We were told they are not doing Sunday Lunch, The whole reason we booked for. The Website has a Sunday Lunch Menu, they just decided not to do it that day because according to the staff "No one wants Sunday Lunch when it's hot." It was 18c. There were other tables near us that all wanted Sunday lunch too, so 9 out of 9 people I counted all wanted Sunday lunch and had to eat from the bait-and-switch menu.The staff were very disorganised and the main menu food was poor.

The food, of what we were allowed to have, was fine. However, we were sat down by the river and were told we only had access to a limited menu. This would have been fine had the rest of the tables in this area also had the same rules applied. Every other table that had food had burgers but we weren’t allowed those. But I don’t really understand the limited menu when we had to get the food from the bar ourselves. Nice location and probably a great pub if you’re a local.

Our first time to this great little pub tucked away in a beautiful village, a lovely big garden adjacent to the river with plenty of seating. We were late for food but bought ourselves a drink and soaked up the sunshine in the lovely garden. A very nice member of the pub family came over to have a chat with us, told us about the the area and the pub and how good the food is. So next weekend we're going for dinner. Lovely pub. Although I didn't purchase any food on this occasion , from what I could see it looked good. The only little thing that I would say is that the staff were selling short measures of beer, (Unlined pint glasses should be filled to the rim) not 10 cm below.Perhaps the bar staff should be advised of this. Especially these days when paying £4.50 per pint.Otherwise good pub nicely situated by the Nene.

I had cream tea in the river side garden on a "summers day in spring". It was a very pleasant environment, in an interesting and historic village with a nature reserve close by. The tea and scone was very nice. I ordered in the tea room and went into the bar to find the toilet. Staff were friendly and helpful. A minor shortfall was the gents toilet was a little smelly (common in pubs) and paper towels had run out recently judging by to the wet paper towels in the bin. I will enjoy a return visit and will investigate the menu more.

Stunning location for our mid ride cafe stop today. Great selection of cakes and the usual tea and coffee offerings. Views over the countryside alongside the river Nene. Seating inside and out in this fabulous setting. Excellent service complemented the wonderful experience.

We had breakfast with Santa this morning and had an absolutely wonderful time. The new “igloos” are spacious, warm, and comfortable. Santa was a delight, and the kids loved their super thoughtful gifts. Wadenhoe is a lovely village, and the patio of The Kings Arms overlooks the river.
