First visit was last night and I must say we will be going again. The food was excellent and staff very friendly and welcoming. The samoas starter was delicious

Been here a few times, can't really fault the food it's always beyond expectations and really delicious which is why it surprises me so much that they use such aggressive marketing methods and spam text and email messages. You're forced to enter a phone number and email address to place and order and despite unchecking boxes for marketing you have to accept the terms and conditions which I assume opts you in to marketing messages. Really disappointed with this invasive approach especially when the food is nice it's just shouldn't be necessary.I won't return here again purely due to the unsolicited messages and emails. Really disappointed.

Absolutely amazing food! Loved the entire order but special status goes to Hot Garlic Chicken tikka!! Delicious.Very modest staff and Vijay ji is superb chef.

Attended with my girlfriend on a busy Saturday night. Food was excellent, drinks were lovely and the staff were amazing! We will definitely return!I had Chicken Tikka Shashlik for starter and Lamb Rogan Josh with Keema Naan and Keema Rice. It was beautifully presented and tasted amazing.I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Looking forward to our next visit!

Best Indian restaurant for miles.Ilkeston is lucky, for a small, unspectacular town in Derbyshire it has a couple of really good Indian restaurants where you can get a great meal. But Jhakhas is in a league of its own.There is one restaurant close by which has long been a staple of Ilkeston, but every dish looks the same brown mush and tastes identical, but with varying levels of spice. -Jhakhas on the other hand couldn't be more different. You can almost see all the individual elements and ingredients in each dish. They all look so fresh and vibrant, you can tell they've been made to order.Even the spiciest dishes have wholesome flavours punching through.The selection of dishes is good, you get all your typical dishes, along with a selection of specials and recommendations that I've not found anywhere else.On my three visits, it's always been fairly quiet, which is a huge shame, while I don't like it overwhelmingly busy, I would hate it to be one of those excellent places that ends up closing because its not on the main high street and doesn't get enough customers.The staff have always been quick to help, and serve. Always friendly and polite without being overbearing.I would urge everybody who fancies going out for a nice curry to give it a try, just take a chance, just once, because you'll certainly go back again and again.Oh, and the Masala Chips are a must.
