So good to be back after so long! Great sharing ploughman's lunch with great beer to quench the thirst. Lovely attentive staff. We'll be back!?

I hired the function room at The Stanhope Arms for my sewing and crafting sessions. Caroline and the team were beyond helpful. The ladies that took part all had food from the 2 for £12 menu and said what amazing value for money it was. Thanks you for having us, a beautiful, cosy venue with lovely staff. Highly recommend!

My friend and I went on a Sunday recently. We both ordered the same meal which was lasagne which came with garlic bread and we added a side of chips. Food was so bland I thought I had covid. My friends was the same. Garlic bread was soggy at the end and barely any flavour or garlic to it. Lasagne had no visible sauce or bechamel sauce. My friends looked a bit watery on 1 side. The pub itself was nice, maybe just a place for a drink but definitely not food.

Food was warm and tasty. Shame not more vegan options available. Funny that they serve vegan lasagne with garlic bread that is not vegan. More consistency and thought is needed

The food was amazing, had the steak and Stilton pie. Love the feel of the country pub. Polite staff, old fashioned beams with a quiz written on them….great idea. Great value for money and love the quiet atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Lovely as always.Staff are always extremely friendly, menu is varied with various deals such as 2 mains for £12.99 and the specials board changes regularly.Warm, cosy, traditional pub feel with typical pub grub and nice atmosphere.Would definitely recommend.

Food ok. Basic pub stuff. Could do with a bit of work on scampi quality but for £6 it's not bad.Nice improvement on atmosphere, warm and inviting. Sadly obe table were very loud but everyone else thought they were idiots and it's their fault. Clearly, the taps have been cleaned as pedigree was clean tasting.

Great pub in small village. Good tasting food and quality selection of beers. Dog friendly. Parking available across the road.

Sunday lunch at the Stanhope. It’s been many years since working at Stanton that I’ve been here, but as a last minute try on what was Father’s Day, they managed to get us in - a table for 2. We’d missed breakfast, so decided on 3 courses…. Duck with Cointreau pate starter - great, traditional Sunday roast beef with veg & Yorkers, very tasty gravy with an included side of cauliflower cheese - again, tasty and the beef was nice and tender. We gave it 10 minutes before attempting the Sticky Toffee pudding with custard - I really enjoyed mine; piping hot. However my colleague reported his as being almost cold, hence only 4 stars today. We’ll certainly be back. Very pleasant place and reasonably priced. Recommended! 👍

Lovely garden in summer. Great Sunday roast. Not too expensive either. 12, 16 or 18 for one two or three course roast. Great old style in a beautiful old village.
