Very cozy pub, friendly and helpful bar staff. We had a combo sharing platter and a main meal each, my main was the Blade of beef and was very comforting and tasty and my partner had the Salmon with New potatoes and mixed salad which was fresh and refreshing.The price was fantastic value and we will be definitely visiting again.

Many great memories here as a kid in the family room at the back. Unfortunately like most pubs all the kids entertainment has all gone and even the family room. That said it's a beautiful traditional pub with all the traditional features.Had a Sunday lunch staff where great really friendly and helpful. Food wasn't to my taste , beers where great

I have enjoyed several good meals here and can recommend the food.They always have a choice of real ales .Sunday lunch is especially good at a reasonable price of £8.50 with a selection of puddings and ice cream.The restaurant at the back is unusual for it has plates of the old local coal pits.Dating back years. A must see when your in the area of Shipley,near Ilkeston.

Really friendly pub bar staff on the ball and always smiling. it's a really friendly place to go with the all the family including our fury best friends to relax have a drink and a great day/night and a awesome meal it's so good my dog asked me to go regularly it's a must try it out

Nice local pub with good food and a nice selection of beers and spirits. Inside atmosphere is nice with friendly, helpful staff. Good size room for having a family party or wakes after a funeral. Car park is a little small. A little slow if in a very large group
