Fantastic place for people with young children. Play are round the back, noisy enough without being terrible, and reasonable prices.I would say that the play area needs insulating better and if you're wanting people to order by the app in an area with limited signal, then put in a free WiFi service, but other than that it's great.Cheap, easy, fun for kids. Excellent.

Pub on the river. You can take your dog inside. Lots of spaces to sit inside with an area where dog owners can sit. If a table is reserved a form shows the time, so until that time you can still sit there. Good system. Friendly staff.

Lovely location next to the River Trent. Dog-friendly, great to walk by the river and return to the pub for lunch (the weir and Stoke Lock are 1 mile upriver, Netherfield Lagoons just under 2 miles upriver). Provides good value, well-cooked and tasty food, including veggie and vegan options. Special deals throughout the week. Always has great value 2 meals for £9.95 (I think) from a selection of pub favourite meals. Bigger plate options available for those with bigger appetites. Always had quick, competent and courteous service. P.S. Has plenty of outdoor seating and a central sheltered courtyard if windy.

Staff was nice and friendly. But unfortunately the food wasn't up to scratch. Chips was warm. Chicken was cold. Would've been worth the price otherwise.

I’ve been going here years with my kids and the people running it are lovely as are the staff. However it’s been slowly going downhill last few years. The new menu I’m not really a fan ruin dishes with random American ingredients - Used to get hunters chicken all the time but the chicken isn’t the best there no more either. The food is well priced though and deals are good and the staff friendly so must be honest so I do keep going back but recently they’ve not had pumps for the soft drinks for about 5-6 weeks. They’re pouring it out of bottles and only normally have lemonade or Diet Coke neither of which I like. They also charge full prices (nearly £3) for pouring out of a £1.79 bottle and rarely have ice because that machine is broke a lot too. It’s also freezing in there - I know it’s an old building but my kids were literally shivering the last time we went and none of us ever take off our coats it’s so cold in there - I’ve kept going back because of the staff and I think it’s excellent value but overall I’m getting close to trying other places now because it’s getting that bad there

It was OK although the vegetable burger named "the Green One" really didn't look appetising on the menu hence asking for a normal bun (the Green One was literally green and green bread normally rings alarm bells) I'm not sure red ones look that good either (Vimto Burger? 🤢) Now I'm sure they probably tasted nice (the normal one was delicious) but for me it needs to look it first too. I've only taken one star off for that reason alone because the staff were nice and so was the beer.

We walked down for breakfast. Dog friendly, a big bonus. We were told food would be at least a 20 minute wait but it was out within 10! It was a little cold so would rather have waited for fresh! Toast was hard! Cheap and cheerful is how I would describe it. Would use again if in area but there are better places

Nice place for a pint and a meal! The fish and chips were fantastic and it’s a nice setting on the beach. Wish more staff were wearing masks— we came just after it became mandatory again but no one was wearing them.

Went here yesterday for breakfast and was pleased to see that the recent changes to decor had made a such a vast imporovemnet to the overall feel of the place. It was clean, warm and the festive feeling had already hit.The breakfast was brilliant, much better than anticipated for a chain resturant so was pleasantly surprised value for money is great.One of our servers unsure of her name was friendly and appeared to be genuinely interested in making sure all was ok.To top it off a nice little soft play for the daughter so overall was a great way to spend the morning.We will definitely be recomending and look forward to coming back to try the day time menus.

We decided to stop at the Ferryboat Inn for breakfast after a lovely stroll around the lake that is right outside! Our daughter loved seeing/ feeding the geese too! Great location!Breakfast was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and the products were of quality! No scraggy bits of bacon! Sausages were really good! On a whole it was well presented and taste great!Service was quick and efficient! Staff were very polite and happy to help!There's also a soft play area for the little ones which our daughter really enjoyed.Refurnished and very clean eatery! 100% recommend!We will be back!!!!
