The food was of good quality. It was fathers Day evening. Waiter service was OK about 6/10 as it was a busy evening. We found a hair in our salad but we're given free deserts. So it was an OK experience. Overall satisfaction was 7/10

Today (14.06.22) 5 of us visited Miller & Carter Sherwood Forest (Mansfield Road) for my mother's birthday. We had a table booked for 13.30pm.The entrance was at the front. Access was all flat. Disabled parking was at the front and further parking was at the rear. Outside seating was to the rear. The toilets were all clean and there was a disabled toilet. On my husband and mines arrival we were met by a nice man who I explained my father had dementia and we would appreciate being seated out the way more if appropriate. He said no problem and showed us to our table at the back of the restaurant near the windows with no one behind us which was ideal. The restaurant is decorated in deep reds and dark wood that reminded me of a typical steak house but the walls were fresh and pops of art work throughout made it interesting.  All tables were set and clean which was a good start. Our waitress Heidi was introduced to us and offered to fetch us drinks whilst we waited for my parents and cousin. Heidi was extremely polite, well presented and attentive but not over the top. She was knowledgeable, kind and friendly. She also checked for dietary requirements or allergies which was nice to hear.I had a pint of Guinness and blackcurrant £4.95 and my husband had a Peroni £5.65 both were fantastic pints. My parents and cousin arrived and were shown over to us and Heidi was soon over to take their drinks order. My father had a pint of IPA £5.60, my cousin had a voucher for a glass of red wine from a newsletter which was taken off the bill. My mother had a free alcohol free cocktail for her birthday which was very nice.We had decided that we were going to have the lunch set menu 2 course for £12.50 and 3 course for £15.50. Starters were ordered there was only 3 to choose from but between us we had them all. 2 x Baked cheddar mushrooms, smoked mackerel pate and 2 x chargrilled chorizo. We also ordered our mains. Everyone had decided to pay the £3 supplement and have a 7oz steak. 4 with chips and 1 with salad. It was served pink with a grilled tomato and onion loaf. You could have had a choice of sweet potato fries, potatos, chips, salad etc. We had an extra of peppercorn sauce £1.95 and a side salad £3.75 (which in my opinion was a little expensive for a very small bowl of side salad)Anyway starters swiftly came, smelling lovely and all was good, very tasty and put us in the mood for the mains. The table was cleared promptly but we didn't feel rushed. The cutlery was replaced and steak knives were brought out. The mains arrived all looking beautiful - no issues at all. Some people said they didn't have room for a sweet but 3 did so we ordered 2 x salted caramel profiteroles and 1 x mixed ice cream and cookie all were a lovely finish to the meal.Heidi and the manager then came over with a plate with a piece of brownie, happy birthday written on it and a candle singing happy birthday to my mother which was a lovely touch. Thank you.During the meal my father, husband and I had a few more pints and enjoyed every one! The total bill for 5 of us including 6 pints was £124 which I dont consider to be over the top.On the whole as a first experience of Miller & Carter I would say it was a very positive one and we would definitely be back. Thank you.

Me and my husband came here for the first time today for our 10 year anniversary, and it ended up being the best meal out we've ever had so far. The food came out at an impressive speed, and the quality did not disappoint either. Our meals were delicious and reasonably priced for their outstanding taste and quality, and Kyle's service was absolutely outstanding as well, so really tonight was flawless. We were greeted by a lovely host, and the restaurant itself looked clean and presentable, and you get the feeling you're dining in a really nice place. We'll definitely be back for the next special occasion, and we'll be bringing friends and family along with us.The food we've ordered:Starters:CalamariScallopsMains and sides:Surf and turf with 8oz fillet steak, medium rareWedge salad with garlic mayo and grana padanoSeasoned friesBeef dripping steak sauce10oz black angus fillet mignon, rareWedge salad with ranch dressing and croutonsPeppercorn steak sauceDessert and drink:Creme bruleeEspresso martini

I have to be fair to this restaurant, for a chain they consistently deliver a very good standard of food and service. Not that I am a regular visitor, but I have been on a number of occasions as my parents like it there and I have to say that I can't remember a bad meal and the service is always attentive.Today, we were there for my dad's 82nd birthday and we were looked after fantastically well by Heidi, she really did everything you would like in order to be able to relax, without being OTT.Today's party of 6 sampled the 30 day fillet steak, 2 x 50 day ribeyes, a full rack of ribs & 2 dirty burgers and all were extremely well received. Everything was spot on and cooked to each diner's liking, the seasoned fries were tasty, the chunky chips were crunchy and the fried onion cake (?) was a sweet and crisp.Only 3 desserts were sampled; a sticky toffee pudding, a brownie and ice cream with cookies...all went down a treat.Well done to the management team for running what appears to be a pretty slick operation and much praise to Heidi for being genuinely bothered about our party, it was a pleasure to briefly meet you.

My steak was cooked to perfection 🤤I haven't been bothered about visiting here because my husband does a amazing steak at home but he wanted to try here so we went for a pre Christmas treat .They is plenty of choice on the menu and our waiter/server examined all our options and how they suggest each cut is cooked.Pudding was as pretty perfect too 😋

As always brilliant service here. They were able to bring our daughters main meal with our starter and her dessert with our mains so we could all eat together.Amazing food and nothing that they can't do for you.I had the dirty burger ( bunless) and the meat was fantastic

Amazing service and the food was equally as amazing. Shelly was a fabulous hostess who kept us laughing all night all while being prompt and professional. Asset to the company and a lovely place to go for my birthday. First time at M&C and will definitely be back!
