Santini in Gedling

Dined here Tonight for the first time in several years.Really nice vibe, nice and bright restaurant, excellent attentive staff and a friendly maitre d’.Food was good, T-bone steak and Prawn & chilli starter were excellent, I’ve never been a fan of fries so give me home cooked potatoes or chips instead any day of the week.Goats cheese starter could do with a little more zing and the garnish being more inventive.My partners chicken kebab was also nicealthough the chicken slightly over.We didn't have desserts or alcohol so for £90 for 2 as nice as it was, it’s should be excellent across the board.

First time going to this restaurant and we absolutely loved it. We were a big table of 7 but the food was served promptly. Our server gave us great advice on the dishes and what to get! The food was wonderful and the service was second to none. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly! Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going back!!

We Dined in this restaurant for the first time on Friday 13th Nay 2922. We were seated and asked our drink orders and waited 20 minutes for them in the meantime being asked by another two wait staff if we'd ordered drinks. It appeared chaotic as we did not have a singular wait staff looking after our table. Various staff asked us about food and drinks. It was very loud and they had music in one part (bar) and a singer in the other (restaurant) which were not separated so it felt like both parts of the restaurant and bar were competing making it difficult for us to converse together. Due to the noise level and wait staff not writing orders down for drinks this was wrong. We ordered Lime cordial (squash) with tap water and no ice (for me) and with soda water and ice for my friend. Mine ws wrong as they doubled my friends order instead. I made the request again and it was still wrong. My drink only arrived just prior to our meals. Then the drink was finally correct. However both drinks were no more than 300mls and cost £2.80 for one of my friends drinks (OMG! ILL Rosso provide endless free water with your meal). Apparently mine with tap water cost £2.20.I later realised they charged me for a drink they made and took away being wrong. They also charged an automatic 10% as "service charge", clearlynot paying their staff enough. If we received good service by one wait staff, this would have been no problem, but sadly we did not. However they couldn't get one drink order right and it took 20 minutes to get it after being wrong twice! Not good service at all!! I found this restaurant over priced for cordial and tap water and my friends drink, too loud to enjoy any conversation together and disorganised. Therefore it was not very good. I won't be returning there again. I'll stick with ILL Rosso (Mansfield) as they provide superb service, excellent food and wait service and a quieter more relaxing environment to enjoy a meal out. Highly disappointed by this experience! Restaurants should work on building repeat customer business not giving poor experience and ripping them off.

Absolute joke. Music wayyyy too loud all night and that is coming from a Hen Doo situation, food without a doubt like everytime I have previously visited was PERFECT but I feel as though the ambiance wasn't right for a wide audience. It is NOT a night club, it is expensive (albeit very good) food and a dining experience yet I felt like I ate a posh kebab in a nightclub. Not cool, could have got that for £8.50 not £80. Complete rip off merchants DO NOT TRUST THIS RESTAURANT!

Like being on holiday!We’ve visited Santini a few times now and have never been disappointed! The food is beautiful: satisfying and flavoursome. The surroundings are idyllic, spacious, with lighting that gives that evening vibe. The people are kind and helpful, really welcoming. We’re told they have live music on Fridays , so looking forward to trying this!

I persuaded my family that this place was going to be great. Very disappointed.Firstly, I do work for an Italian company and go to Italy quite a bit.So from the menu pricing I was expecting something close to Italian.There where five of us. The restaurant wasn’t too busy. We ordered a mixture of steaks , pizzas and seafood pasta and BBQ seafood. Whilst none of it was poorly cooked , none of it blew us away or met our expectations compared to the cost.My advise would be, if you want pizza and pasta go to a chain like Pizza Express , it will be as good but cheaper.If you want steak or seafood give this place a try.The wine list is limited and not especially Italian or Mediterranean… I know this is Nottinghamshire but the choice could have been more exciting.We didn’t get time for dessert or limoncello as the staff took so long to serve us we decided to leave.Conclusion. Only slightly above average food but overpriced.

We went to Santini for the first time today for food. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the hosts were very attentive and the staff were accommodating with a smile. The food was well presented and prepared to taste. It was my husband's best chicken dish that he has ever had out. Couldn't fit in a pudding, will try harder next time.

Average food, below average service, above average price.Arrived at 7, so there weren't many in. The drinks order was taken and it took 20 minutes for them to come, in which time the food order was taken. The server couldn't answer questions about the food, maybe they were new?When the food came (tapas) it all tasted similar, the chicken was tough and dry, felt like it had been warmed in the microwave or over cooked. Some items came with missing bits, which when chased finally came towards the end of the meal.So overall not somewhere I'd be going back to which is disappointing because the restaurant itself looks amazing.And to top it off they add a service charge to your bill, this is discretionary but you shouldn't be made to be put in by a position to ask for it to be removed.

We have been to Santini a few times now, the atmosphere and food are always second to none. The service is first class, on our last visit we were served by Millie, she was excellent and very customer experience oriented. We phoned up and got A table last minute, it was busy and the wait for food was a while but we were told this on entering and appreciated the honesty. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.

We went midweek so it was quiet, service was quick & staff were pleasant. Weather was good so the outdoor seating area was nice but the food was very disappointing for the price… £6 for a pint of peroni seems high we’re in ravenshead not london!I ordered the chicken kebab expecting it to come on a skewer with some nice roast veg. What I actually got was 6 chunks of chewy charred black chicken & 2 bits of limp green pepper. No chance of stuffing the tiny flatbread with anything and no chilli sauce as described on the menu… not sure what part of the meal made it a kebab in all honesty.The Calzoné looked great on arrival but was more the texture of a crusty loaf of bread than a pizza dough… the filling tasted decent but the dough was very thick, chewy & really hard to cut without making the entire table wobble!Overall food very average if the sun hadn’t been shining it probably would have been a 2⭐️
