The Black Horse Inn in Gedling

We had our wedding reception here and they did a great job. It was a simple hot buffet for 35 people which everyone enjoyed. Beccy and her team were really helpful in getting everything just as we wanted.

Great service and a fantastic food selection with great value deals.

Friendly staff and the food was great. Decent selection of beer and the pub seemed nice and clean.

They had a lot of items off the menu and a regrettable taste for background musak. However, service was excellent, swift and friendly. Food was more than OK: didn't particularly like the warm, soft chips that were more wedges than chips, but couldn't really fault anything much. The spong pudding desserts were lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely family meal here last night. Lots of different vegan choices, well done! A fabulous 241 menu. Lovely attentive staff. Amazing chips! Will definitely be back.

Lovely food, lovely staff, great atmosphere, ran by an amazing land lady who knows the pub trade so well!Outside seating, sports screen (outdoors), children's play ground, large car park. Win win!

I've seen so many reviews of their Sunday dinner saying it's incredible.... But I had to say it was quite bland. I was not overly impressed at all. This could be due to me normally seasoning my chicken at home. I think I counted 2 roast potatoes, I mean who has 2 roast potatoes. The gravy was very runny too, not my cup of tea. The service was ok until we had eaten, and were rudely told that they needed the table (an hour after finishing our pudding). No previous attempt was made from the time we finished our dessert until the waitress was upfront about the table. I asked for the bill and before I could finish, I was cut off. Unfortunately I won't be returning here, and for service alone I wouldn't recommend it.

Had a buffet here after my friend's funeral. The food was fresh and nicely presented. The Victoria sponge was lush. Nice touch that they put takeaway boxes on the table at the end so we could take the surplus food home. My friend hated waste!

Very friendly and inviting. Very pleasant landlord who was more than happy to explain about the pub and about it's recent successes and feedback from people. I'm not surprised at all by the feedback.The menu looks really good; if not fantastic. A person at the bar instantly recommended the "Fish Finger Sandwich" (all homemade) and I can say that I'll be adding to this review has once I've eaten here. Very fair pricing.Children friendly and they can even make their own pizza with their chef hat on (one they colour in and obviously get to keep).
