Wow what a gem, new owners and big changes, if you enjoy real ales open fire with local hospitality then I highly recommend this pub, a landlord that genuinely knows about the ales he serves along with taking the time to welcome each customer to the bar, what a pleasure to enter a pub that doesn't have every table laid out for dinners, not a vinegar jar in sight. a pub for meeting up with friends to chat and enjoy an evening, good luck and best wishes to the new landlord, and thank you for giving us a fantastic real ale pub back,

Visited this lovely country pub this evening and was thrilled to find a real gem. The ale was fantastic and the hospitality first class from the wonderful barmaid, Caroline, and the new landlord, Mark. So looking forward to their food offering once they've revamped the kitchen after the departure of the previous business owners, I can only see this beautiful pub going up and up. Modern tradition pub friendly management Angela always makes you feel welcomed and staff food is always hot and very tasty especially the sunday lunches delicious compliments to the chef again.

Great beer, odd there are only tables of 4 and no smaller tables of 2 for couples to sit on to drink. Food no different to other pubs on the route out of Leicester. Could be an amazing destination food pub with right food offer

On a circular walk with friends, found the Dog & Gun by accident, due to Covid regulations not open for alcoholic drinks, but cup of tea available as a take out. Added bonus was Easter themed chocolate brownies available from a stall in the car park, BRILLIANT will be back. Thank you.
