Worst and weirdest fish pie I've ever had. No potato topping and very little fish in a thick glupey 'sauce' that looked it had spent too long under the grill.Steak burger was actually a steak mince burger, which disappointed my 2 lads.Service very very slow, but it was busy inside and out. Staff friendly though.Think they should cut the covers down by a third and concentrate more on the quality of the food and service times.Atmosphere and decor reminded me of a Harvester. Location is lovely though.

The food was good. However we arrived to find that quite a few items were unavailable as they didn't expect a super busy day which was a bit disappointing as a lot of us wanted those options. It is a good place for a pint after a nice walk and the food is decent.

Took 4 days of ringing on off to finally get an answer about booking a table. We got a table but with a time limit. We didn't mind but food took over an hour to come out, you could see they were busy though. We didn't mind the wait but we was running out of time before they wanted the table back. Food was nice, small portion though. 1 waitress really nice helpful, 1 wasn't and 1 waiter looked lost lol. Bless him. Toilets badly needed cleaning and a general refurb, the handle is missing in the gents. Not a bad experience, but nothing to shout about.

Went for a walk on Mothers day to Foxton Locks and stopped here for a drink. The staff were really nice and the drinks were not too expensive. We sat outside and our order was brought to us.Would have loved to have tried the food that looked very good but as you can imagine they were fully booked, but on the basis of my experience I would go back but would book first to make sure. The Pub itself is clean and inviting and the staff are very friendly.

A nice place to get away from the stresses of modern life and step back into a time of canals and their locks. The cafe at top of lock is lovely and the pub can be your reward after doing a few circuits of the locks.

Perfect for a sunday roast. Most enjoyable. Carvery but dished by the chefs and table service. Lovely piece of turkey. The staff were very friendly and professional.

A great place for a meal in a beautiful, central setting. Food was tasty & fresh. Staff were polite & helpful. There are great views out over the lakes from the dining area, which has wall to wall windows which on a lovely day were open. Lots of outside seating. Service initially was a little slow, but the pub was fairly busy. Staff maintain Covid standards & masks are advised for customers but not enforced. Toilets were clean and cared for.

You do not need to be a lover of narrow boats and canals but if you venture to Foxton Locks this will surely change.Tucked away in the Leicestershire countryside you can find the 16 locks with their charm and engineering wonder. No matter how modern the world is watching narrow boats descend or ascend the locks is fascinating. The backdrop of the countryside is delightful. Talk to the narrow boat owners and find out where they are going to.Before you even start enjoy a lovely meal by the canal at the pub restaurant. Do not take my word for it find out for yourself and enjoy several hours of calm pleasure

I had a lovely carvery meal with my mum earlier on, the food was so good, tasted like good quality fresh ingredients were used too. It was busier than we anticipated but it wasn't crowded at all. The staff were ever so friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend coming here, even for a drink if you're visiting the locks.

Great little traditional pub right next to the locks and river front. We sat in the garden right by the river watching the canal boats coming and going through the lock. Food is lovely and fresh served in throw away style baskets. Not sure of this is just for COVID convenience or not, but really doesn't matter. The quality of our scampi, triple cooked fat crispy but flaky chips with pease was excellent, all washed down with a really cold beer. Good selection of basic pub meals, gins, ciders, beers etc all served by very friendly staff. Will loan you water filled dog bowls for your four legged friends as well. Loved the atmosphere, location, everything was perfect.
