Holly Cottage Tea Rooms in Harborough

We went for lunch on Mother's Day and were delighted with our experience! The service was friendly and attentive and the food arrived very quickly and was delicious. We've waited much longer in other places for far lower quality food, and that was when we'd booked in advance! Loved it here, we will definitely be back.

Very happy with our dinner in a no fuss bistro. Decoration is in traditional tea room style.We ordered a lamb chop and sweet potatoes, beans & spinach stew. Lamb chops were tender & tasty. Liked the stew that was plenty & came with fresh side salad.I would come again for sure!

Lovely tearoom. We had a full breakfast.... bacon, egg,sausages, beans, tomato, mushrooms, toast and a pot of tea. £7.45. Really enjoyed it and great value. I would definitely return again and recommend. The place was clean and tidy and sanitisers and one way system in place. Friendly staff. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that we were on a day trip so time was limited and although there were lots of staff, they seemed to be walking around a lot but didn't take our order for 15mins. All in all great experience

Note:This review is about their EVENING BISTRO. I'm sure their daytime tea room is absolutely superb.So, the Bistro...The menu says their beef and lamb burgers are sourced from a local butcher. This gives the impression that all their beef and lamb is local...The Lamb shank was a microwave one, (with that rather ghastly chemical mint).Alarm bells should have rung when we were the only people eating there on a Saturday night.Sad, they should stick with what they know (a tea room) and go home at 6pm to enjoy the evening.Better options are Dee Side Cafe, which offers an evening Bistro, and The Corn Mill.In short, horrendously expensive third rate food - and certainly not local (unless there's a cash'n'carry next door).

Nice little cafe, with canel and fast flowing river nearby. Food was good.

Lovely food, great staff and quick service. Some of the best chips I've had. 2 dishes shared between us. Lots of choice, busy little place.

Was busy but were seated and served rapidly. I had the Welsh cream tea, delicious, not too many sweet cakes but the lovely Welsh version. We'll be back.

Very disappointed. I don’t recommend this place for food.We been there last weekend and was lucky to get a table inside. We were so excited looking at the menu and ordered peri peri chicken panini and lamb chops. Oder was quick and the taste of fries, mushrooms, salad and coleslaw were good. However, panini was tasteless just plain. And lamb chops are like a rubber.Panini, at least we added some salt and pepper to add something to it but Lamb chops were so awful. Too rubbery not properly cooked. Sorry to saw but we paid premium prices just for chips 🍟, mushrooms 🍄 and salad 🥗. In that sense it is very expensive place of food.

This place is situated just to the side of the bridge over the River Dee and has a cosy indoor seating area as well as plenty of outdoor tables too. The food was really good and arrived pretty quickly despite it being a busy time in the middle of a festival. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!
