One of my absolute favorites! The food is always great, lovely atmosphere and a superb location. We have been coming here for a while now and it is always a wonderful experience that never disappoints. Roasts on Sunday in particular are incredible! Will be back again soon!

Staff amazing ,there on a birthday bash 10 of us .The meals came out at the same time so everyone could eat together ..brilliant.I had fish and chips , nicely presented but would have liked a few more chips there were 12 chips ( but of good size ) not your standard chips , the fish was delightful.I would like to thank staff for putting up with us .would recommend it and definitely go again .

We came in from a long ride out to the Peak District. Service was okish. Had to get the barmaids attention. 3 Lager shandys cost north of £12. Which puts Fosters at £4 a pint. The Pub looks great and has a nice feel about.

Really great food and service. Always have a fantastic meal here, and the team are always happy to help. Top place.

Disappointing but fortunately not a kings ransom. Met up with a group of friends for a meal out. Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Steaks were fine but mussels over cooked to the point of being inedible. Staff keen but clearly not trained to react appropriately to the quality issue. An apology would have been welcomed after the post-mortem that was clearly visible in the open plan kitchen. Won’t be rushing back.

Really good food, atmosphere and location. Ive known about this place for ages and after visiting last weekend i wish i went earlier. Such a great place, the food is incredible. We had the roast and it was delicious and large portions. Caters for children also with a decent variety. Looking forward to going again and trying other dishes.

Book the Garden Room for group parties - 1 big square table so you can all see eachother. Great food, quick & friendly service.

Booked a table for myself and my daughter.I asked for Gin and tonic which came and it was totally flat.So I pointed this out and reluctantly they replaced it with another. Again there was hardly any fizz in the tonic water to which I was told when I pointed it out that it was Fever tree tonic which was hardly sparkling. I’ve had many gin with fever tree tonics and never had one like this but decided not to make an issue of it.The starter I had was basically a raw oyster mushroom chopped up over a bit of salad. My main course I had the steak which was absolutely fantastic. My pudding was the crumble which had obviously been heated up in the microwave and there was no crumble texture to the topping it was just like crystallised sugar.for the food. Would I go there again? no. Would I recommend somebody else to eat there? no.For the atmosphere and speed of service the answers to both above will be yes.If everything was up to the standard of the steak I want to eat there every Night. So it is likely that the chefs are fantastic but the volume of orders they have is too excessive.

Our family of 13 people had a meal on Saturday lunchtime, in the garden room, to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. It was absolutely faultless: pleasing surroundings, excellent food and perfect service. How often can you say that? Grateful thanks to the staff who looked after us so well.

Excellent service. Pleasant surroundings. They were very busy, for food orders, but they explained straight away, so no problem. Drinks came very quickly. Lucy served us, and told us to mention her name. Five stars!
