We had a very pleasant Saturday lunch off the House menu, during a drive from Manchester to Kent. The staff were very nice and looked after our 2 year old daughter very well. Burgers were very natural with a nice relish. The giant mussels were impressive, just could have done with a few more!

Food was not nearly up to standard. Brioche buns for the burgers burnt, no lettuce, or any salad in the burgers at all. Very basic and bland. Not what you would expect at all for the surroundings, a la carte portions but not a la carte standard!

Afternoon tea very nice, but had to ask for the milk for tea & jam for the scones suprised to see teapot lids with chips in them. Very friendly

Went for lunch. Food fresh cooked and very tasty. Had a long wait to be seated and staff kept disappearing. Meal took along time to be served(2 1/2 hrs approx)

Great surroundings and should be a fantastic experience. Sadly the service and the food didn't live up to the gorgeous building.
