The Old Red Lion in Harborough

We love the old Red lion, the food is amazing, the staff polite and efficient, steaks are cooked exactly how you ask and a mouthwatering range of food on the menu, and really reasonable prices this is so important when you have a family to treat to a meal as we do, it's the go to place for us any excuse will do. I highly recommend a visit.

A lovely Country Pub with a vibrant atmosphere, staff are helpful and considerate, nothing too much and the food looked great and tasted lovely. Lunchtime menu is excellent value for money

I don't like to leave a bad review but the food was really quite poor. The steak and Ale pie was flavourless and served with smash not real potatoes when it said mashed potatoes on the menu, it was vile. The service was also poor, they brought the desserts without clearing the mains from the table and seemed offended when I asked they clear the mains away, I get being busy and rushed, but the look on the waitresses face when we politely asked for the table to be cleared was almost scathing. They then didn't bring all the desserts we paid for and had an attitude telling us we didn't order and pay for them, we could prove we paid for it as we ordered on the app. This pub used to do really good food, it's such a shame.

We'd had a bad experience here before lockdown, but wanted to try again because before that time we had always had a lovely meal. It wasn't bad like the last time, but wasn't great either. Not sure if they've changed chef or something, but it's just no where near as good as it used to be.

Excellent food at great value. Exemplary service in a traditional setting.

My new partner had been telling me how old this place was, so we were disappointed. My cappuccino was luke warm so I sent it back & had to wait about half hour for a replacement. My partner ordered a fajitas & only got 2 wraps, when I asked the waitress if there should have been more, she said yes there should, but we've run out. Later on we saw wraps being taken to another table.Whie there, at least 2 other tables complained about their meals being cold.Very disappointed & won't be going back in a hurry.

What a lovely pub, we had my wife's 40th birthday party there and it was the best place we could have picked. The team where great, The food lovely & everything was cleaned and well maintained

Awful food. Awful service. When I spoke to management in the pub about our poor experience she told me to email head office- no apology or effort to resolve the problem, just fobbing me off to get rid of us. I was contacted by head office after emailing my complaint. I was offered a £10 voucher! 2 steaks ruined. Both sent back. The replacements were just as bad. A joke. Staff knew nothing about food allergies and reluctantly showed us a file. Disgusting considering allergies can be fatal (one family member carries an epi-pen for severe food allergies). We will not return. Such a shame because this used to be a lovely pub with great food and happy staff.

Very hospitable, met here with a walking group and was nice after 10 miles to come back and have some home cooked food and a nice pint. Will definitely be back again to try something from the steak menu.

Went here last night, not been for many years, due to bad experience. Me and my husband was more than pleased with our food! The steak was amazing! Melt in the mouth experience, cooked to perfection!Will definitely start going to The red lion more often from now on! If you want a good cooked and tasty mouth watering steak The Red Lion is your place!
