Can't fault this place at all, 18th century charm, excellent food, superb attention to detail, very friendly staff, thoroughly enjoyable experience. There for a funeral, brilliant attention to everything

This used to be a lovely place until the current manager took over. Room deals have gone up £25 to £125 but the state of the rooms have deteriorated.We booked informing them we are bringing a dog which has always been free previously. Paid the £125. Paid another £25 for a bottle of wine and was given a table to eat in an area that resembled a youth club. The manager then demanded another £15 for the dog and very arrogantly told us to leave if we didn't like it, which we did.Such a shame as we have come here for years as a monthly treat.

The food here is EXCELLENT!Not a huge range on menu but what they do they do superbly. Decent portion size and quality produce.Alcoholic drinks wide and varied, and does a great pint of Shipyard.Decor captures a modern feel but with traditional pub qualities.What caps off this place is the staff. The managers are a lovely couple with bags of experience and are great to talk to. They run a young but hard working and friendly team.

Changed managers recently, they seem happy to under measure and generally don't keep the glasses clean.One of the two seems to also get drunk and generally use the place of work as their hobby - again very unprofessional.On a good day with the right staff it's still worth a visit.Foods fine 👌🏻

Wow what a let down used to be a great local when run by Nicola and pug pubs. Just experienced staff talking about a group of us behind our backs and wondering whether to leave the Leicester football on for us or put the end of France v Italy on for a so called regular making his pint last for hours. Such a shame a good local has gone downhill so much

Starter was not what was described. Very bland. The bruscetta was not bruscetta. Main was ok but the yorkshire puddings were doughy and tasteless. Potatoes were nice. Chicken was good but was not chicken supreme. Beef was quite unpleasant and stringy. Dessert was okay but not worth the 2 hour wait!

Would not recommend for allergies.Had the gluten free veggie burger, but when it arrived it didn't look like a gluten free bun, so we double checked and were told it was.At the time it tasted lovely, well it did until it violently and repeatedly came back up a couple of hours later. Suspect mine was mixed up with the other person on my table who had a regular veggie burger. Being coeliac is a pain when eating out, but would suggest some allergy training for staff and I'll trust my instinct in future.When the server says yes without hesitation or double checking with the kitchen, it's usually bad news for my stomach.

Not impressed. After my husband ordered a gluten-free meal and I double checked with the waitress that the burger bun was gluten free, she almost rolled her eyes at me as she confirmed it was.. sadly 3 hours later my husband is violently sick and terribly unwell, I can only assume the meals were mixed up and his intolerance wasn’t taken seriously. Won’t be eating there again

A quaint country pub, off a long country lane.Came here for a bite to eat, after seeing it on Instagram.The pub is very cosy and inviting, with lit fires and lovely pictures of pugs hung around.There is a main restaurant and then two back bars, where you can either have a drink or meal.Menu has lovely choices, including risotto, pizzas, fish and chips and huge onion rings, all food is freshly home cooked.I couldn't manage all of my pizza, so they boxed it up and let me take it home.Staff are very friendly, helpful and accomodating, especially our waitresses Libby & Olivia, they made sure that we always had a full glass of drink and that our food was ok.They also have rooms available to stay in, so will definitely be looking to come back and do that.

Very nice atmosphere, nice pub, the food was not bruilliant, ok but not bruilliant. The ribeye steak was over cooked, vegterian burgers were dry. On the plus staff were excellent and service was very good.
