The White Horse in Harborough

If you have children particularly young children I would definetly avoid this pub and not give it a second thought, if you are looking for a family friendly place for lunch, dinner or drinks this is definitely not the place for you.My experience having gone for lunch with my 3 year old an partner was horrible I left feeling very unwelcome and quite upset.My 3 year old daughter was told that she is being 2 loud and that she would have to leave by a member of staff. The staff member did not approach myself or my partner and ask us to leave or ask to be quite instead approached her and told her off for being loud. I was sitting close by watching her she had wondered round to the table next to us (at this point the place was empty why she couldn't wonder round empty tables I'm unsure of)I was quite upset by what had just happened and instantly felt we was not wanted there so I hurried her out of the place as quick as I could while my partner was still in the toilets.On our drive home I explained what had happened to my partner and he sent a polite message to the owner stating we had a lovely lunch and how nice the food was and then explained how we treated at the end after we had paid.The owners response was was quite sarcastic and shocking. She agreed with what had happened and how we were treated and even said she would not have put up with it for as long as the staff did.What she was referring to as put up with it is noise from a 3 year old and her wondering around an empty pub.To sum this review up the food is nice but the atmosphere and staff are not nice and this pub is definitely not child friendly/family friendly.The quote the mangers own words, it is what it is and I'm just being honest!

Good food, friendly attentive service and very clean. Nicely presented. Fully recommend a visit.

Visited for Sunday lunch here last Sunday afternoon with the family.The food was really well cooked and tasty with generous portions and a friendly service .Deserts also top quality. Everybody had empty plates at the end .We will be back again soon .

Stayed over at White Horse last night. What a wonderful find. Had travelled down to Newmarket to watch our horse run but instead of driving all the way home we looked for somewhere to stay on the route home.Room was very comfortable, clean and cosy.Food in the pub was delicious. Unfortunately couldn't manage a desert as the portions were pretty big. That is not a complaint!The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay over again on our next visit to the area.

Just spent a few days here. Excellent food in just such lovely accommodation, with exceptional staff who were friendly, polite and professional. Excellent experience and one of the nicest stays we have had. Cannot wait to return. Thank you so much.

This place has to be one of the best restaurants that I have ever had the pleasure of eating dinner at waited on hand and foot, catered to our every need, they could not have been more helpful, I would 100% recommend this place to everyone and anyone and it's very affordable. I give this place 5 stars

Just had a wonderful meal here. We had made a last minute decision for four of us to come out for dinner and despite being busy they did there best to accommodate us, giving us a lovely table and the food was amazing. We have decided we are going to be regular customers from now on.

A quintessentially British country pub. Great little place, in the village of Stoke Albany. Great atmosphere cosy and welcoming. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is amazing a big portions. Ended up having a sandwich from the light lunch menu. It was anything but light! Triple decked club sandwich with a side salad and skin on fries. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

Excellent food although the sprouts could have done with a couple more minutes and the roasties a few minutes less. Beautifully presented and seasoned perfectly. Service was good and reasonably priced. We had whole room as we were a large party and the room was beautifully decorated, particularly loved the wallpaper.
